FUCK YEAH! I'm not sure how I hadn't heard this before, but holy shit, what an incredible job. Starting with the incredible job with the stereo separation. A lot of people try to make H&V different from the single version by trying to put in parts of other songs, like DYLY or Barnyard, and of course there's nothing wrong with that, but keeping the structure as you did, without loose parts of other songs, doing such a good job with the stereo as you did, and managing to innovate using only parts of H&V (at least when it comes to the structure) is really amazing The "My Children Were Raised" part was amazing because you didn't just make the decision to put that part where you did, but you were able to keep the vocals from the TSS mix structure and add the BG vocals. It certainly took a lot of work to make it not overstimulating and not tiring. Using the psychedelic sounds in the Cantina part was a really cool approach, as if it was actually a ambiance of people talking with high spirits, although it wouldn't be a bad idea to fade out when the verses start. Really good bro!!! Very colorful and fun mix!!!!!

Not to mention that outro sounding very Ennio Morricone! He had to be some sort of influence to Brian at some point during SMiLE.

You will not believe the odds of me opening up KZbin seconds ago for me to find a H&V mix and this popping up.

The energy in this version is unreal! I’d have to say thats due to everything being separated. This sounds fantastic, I never really thought the official versions of this song showed its full potential, THIS does! 10/10

So clear! Real deal stereo. Sounds I never heard before. Again doing SMILE justice!

the weird, muddy, and "incomplete" Smiley Smile version will always be my beloved but this is amazing, the vocals hit different

This is my new definitive version of H&V, I love how you incorporated the three score and five part. Amazing work!

Great job on the stem extractions, it's mixed very authentically like a 1967 single now. Loved it!

This is amazing! It all flows together really well I love the energy as another person commented on. I'm not a huge fan of mixes that add all the unused sections, since some mixes just throw them in with no real regard for their context in the song and the end result just doesn't flow together well.

1:46 when this first started, I was like "okay, at the end it's not going to match though..." And when I heard the edit my eyes got wide and I let out a loud gasp of amazement. This is so cool man, maybe not my definitive version, but I love it.

Best mix of this I’ve ever seen! Gives it so much bounce and energy that I always felt like was buried on official versions

My eyes widened at your treatment of the Children Were Raised section as I went "ohhh!" And what is that skit that intros Cantina here? I feel like it's a bit too much noise but it's an interesting choice. I wish maybe it cut out for the "dance Margarita" part, like a hush coming over as you pay attention.

Genuinely this mixing is legendary, I am astounded and blown away, this talent is unreal. Are there any plans to release a full version of SMiLE with all of your stereo mixes stitched together?

There is a plan for sure, but I don't know when.

Great stuff mate, really enjoyed the way you've managed to fit "My Children Were Raised" into the fater paced flow of the first half of the song! Do you have a set track listing for your upcoming version of Smile? If so, would you be so kind as to share it in the comments?

How did you manage to separate the mix into 50 stems?
@Anonymuse_3 ай бұрын
Well since there are six different sections in this song, and lots of vocal overdubs, I managed to separate every single instrument and vocal part using AI separation.

Moises and MVsep for AI separation, Ableton Live for mixing/mastering. (Also Adobe Audition for audio cleanup/noise reduction)
