I saw Dennis Wilson sing this at the Boston Garden on Friday, November 26, 1965. It's the only song I remember as the crowd seemed to quiet down a bit when Dennis stepped to the front of the stage to sing it. There was so much screaming the rest of the night you couldn't tell one song from the next.

There's a lot of people that say that the Beach Boys couldn't have pulled off their early hits without Mike Love's leads. I just listened to a show in 1965 with Jan and Dean covering Beach Boys songs. Love was easily replaceable. Unfortunately, he was family, so no matter how much of a you know what he was, or how nasally his leads were, the band suffered on.
