I really have no idea what you're talking about there. Plenty of great new/modern pop (though I'd consider The Beaches alternative/rock before pop). Wolf Alice, Tennis, Aly & AJ (yes really. Check out A Touch of the Beat gets You Up On Your Feet Gets You Out and Into the Sun), London Grammar, The Big Moon, Chappell Roan, The Greeting Committee, Daughter, Wet Leg, The Last Dinner Party, Florence +The Machine, Girl In Red, Metric, Rubblebucket... I could go on and on... There's plenty of great female vocalists. Just have to look for them instead blanket complaining...
