He had a condition called hypospadias, which prevented his penis from fully developing. Since then, he has been legally recognized as a man. Indonesia is also a muslim majority country, so we don't support LGBT. But what happened to Aprilio was purely the fault of his parents and doctors, not his own will. His earliest childhood memory is of being told by his mother that he was going to hospital to have his tonsils out but waking up in a flowery dress with a bandage on his groin. After that he was raised as a boy. But in his 30s his body began to change dramatically. This whole area of DSD and intersex chromosomes is absolutely nothing to do with the whole transgender issue and needs to be treated with great care - firstly by recognising that 99.9% of us know almost nothing about it. This isn’t Algeria’s fault or even the intersex boxer’s fault. The IOC doesn’t have rules in place right now about intersex athletes competing so anyone who does have that condition is allowed to compete. Trans athletes are currently banned from competing at the Olympics. The IOC should do a better job of putting rules in place that outline these rare genetic mutations.

1. Khelif was born with xy chromosomes with DSD 5-ARD deficiency.. Internal testes and no ovaries ... As such, Khelif was misassigned at birth as a female .. same as Caster Semenya and Brittany Griner ... 2. When Khelif reached puberty, his xy chromosomes kicked in (specifically the y chromosome) releasing normal male levels of testosterone from internal testes and resulting in all the attributes associated with being a male (muscle mass, bone density, lung capacity, larger heart, broader shoulders, deeper voice, etc) .. just look at the video of Khelif walking around Paris .. major broad shoulders and a typical male gait .. 3. In 2023, Khelif was banned by the IBA for not meeting the female division sex requirements .. ie. Not having xx chromosomes ... Khelif initially appealed this decision but then abandoned it .. when a simple cheek swab would easily prove whether Khelif was xx or xy ... 4. The fact Khelif chose NOT to fight the IBA ban or take this simple test is very telling, if not damning .. hiding behind a dubious passport is not proof of anything.. 5. In 2024, Khelif decides to compete as a woman in the Olympics, knowing the IOC has a loophole in not requiring actual proof that women are xx chromosomal.. Instead, a passport will do, which is zero proof at all ! 6. Any empathy for Khelif I had disappeared upon learning he is gaming the system by KNOWING he is xy chromosomal and STILL deciding to use his xy size/muscle/power advantage to beat up xx women .. the power advantage difference between men and women is massive (one paper cited a 162% difference!) .. 7. The IOC banned Caster Semenya in the 2024 Olympics for having naturally high testosterone (but ignoring why this is occurring ie. xy chromosomes) ... yet allows Khelif, Lin, and Griner to compete ... the inconsistency is mind-boggling 8. Algeria should be ashamed knowing full well they are exploiting the IOC's incompetence and willful woke ignorance, instead of actual solid recognized facts and science. 9. Their egregious decision (IOC) could lead to serious injuries, or even death, to actual xx female athletes. It's just insane. Solution: * Cheek swabs for ALL competitors ... * Only XX can participate in women's sport events * Its just that simple!

But considering that he as a passport identifying him as female, the IOC had no real grounds to deny admittance. Khelif has competed in womens-boxing for many years, before this new discussion about transpeople in womens sports was a thing (so very different case from Lia Thomas, who competed in swimming as man 2 years ago and then switched gender...he did not get admittance for the olympics!). The doctors told us that my child was intersex 1 month before birth, and that we needed to prepare for years and years of hormone therapy. It was an extremely stressful time. We were preparing for a gender disorder of some sort. Talking through possibilities with genetic specialists, we got to the point where we were even praying that it was this extremely rare disorder where a female has Y lined cells, because people with that condition often don't ever even know they have it - they can still get pregnant and everything else, no treatment necessary. Figured that was the best case scenario. Even considering the worst case scenario had me in tears for the first time in many years. Thank God, my child was born a 100% normal, healthy biological girl. They determined the Y chromosome that was detected came from a vanishing twin. Needless to say, we filed complaints against the "doctor" who told us she couldn't have been a girl. She turns 1 year old tomorrow! Anyways, the point is that I now have a ton of empathy/sympathy for people who suffer from genetic gender disorders. When I heard this person was a woman with Y chromosome lined cells, I felt terrible seeing everyone calling "her" a man, imagining how mad I'd be if that was my daughter. To find out this was a lie and that they coerced me into having sympathy for a man who was beating up women on live TV is so incredibly disturbing. What a nasty thing to do. Imane Khelif is intersex. They told that Khelif had undescended testes, blind end vaginal canal (that leads to no uterus) and the “micro penis” is a clitoris hyperhtrofy. 5 alpha deficiency IS an intersex condition cause they are born with female genitalia but are genetically male. That makes them intersex. The condition makes them unable to produce DHT but they do respond to testosterone, so when they reach puberty they develop male secondary sex characteristics cause the internal testis in the abdomen produce male levels of the hormone, and this causes the clitoris to hypertrophy (like in transexual men who are born biologically female but take testosterone to develop masculine traits). However, many doctors remove the gonads from 5 alpha deficiency babies to stop male puberty from happening and they take female hormones for life, keeping their female genitalia. In those cases they develop female secondary sex characteristics at puberty and have even less advantage than other biological women, cause they have little to no androgens compared to the ovaries of a normal female that produces more testosterone. In this case, they wouldn’t have an advantage and should be allowed to compete against women. If Imane didn’t remove the internal gonads then that IS definitely an advantage towards women in sports and shouldn’t be allowed to compete, cause the male levels of testosterone and development during puberty would make Khalif physically stronger. As you can see, this is a very complicated topic and the intersex people that are born with this condition have many variables of how they live their lives. Some of them keep their female genitalia and remove their gonads before puberty and others don’t and adopt a male indentity after puberty and have corrective surgery to create a penis. I can understand how people can be upset about this topic, but making fun of Imane’s condition, calling it ugly names and making fun of it is what I don’t condone. Intersex people already go through a lot in this world…

I don't support the disrepect to Khelif. However from a merely biological point of view, Khelif has male gonades and male cromosomes, the most logical thing to do will be treatment with DHT, correct the cryptorchidism and remove the vagina. If Khelif chosed to continue as woman that was based on gender identity rather than a medical review. And we have also to clarify that among the intersex spectrum, this is a case of male pseudohermaphroditism, again meaning that biologically we lean more to the male than to the female sex.

Dear anybody who is willing to listen to the nuance here, The problem here is not that she/he claimed that she/he is a woman. She/he really was a woman her/his whole life until a year ago. She/he has a rare condition when she/he looks like a woman from the outside, but really has a XY chromosomes. It happens because his/her testosterone is not in the levels that needs to be to proper development of genitalia. If we did not have medicine on the level we have, we would have never been able to recognise that. I give you an example of a father, who has a 18years-old child and suddenly was told that he is not the biological father of that child. Would we blame him if a year after that realisation he would stil consider himself the father of that child because he spent 18 years of his live caring about him? And isn't even harder when it is your whole life? And what is the real problem in this situation? For corruption reasons the qualifications to opympics were held by the individual countries and Algeria really wanted that medail despite any costs. It is the classical problem of human greedy. Do not blame it on transgenderism or anything similar. It is just a medical condition that does not fit into our boxes. Should the medal be returned? Probably yes. It is similar as with taking drugs. Should we lynch Aman becasue she feels like a woman? Probably not, because she herself does not know what she is. She is not a man either, because her penis is not visible, her muscles are not big enough and she probably cannot have children either. Should she do something else then women sports? Probably yes, because it is unfair to other women. There have been other "women" in this position and they usually ended up their career. Why do I write such a long post? Because I hate how badly the information is given. Yes, it is alright that we disagree with her medail, but please use the correct arguments not just emotions.

The problem in the amateur boxing world is that the International Olympic Committee has created its own boxing federation to regulate that sport (in its connection to the Olympics). It used to be that the IBA governed the sport. But a Russian official runs it now, and the IOC severed its relationship to what they perceived as a Russian-controlled boxing federation.
