THE BEACON OF HATE! Scary Ham Radio beacon transmissions!!

A video about the infamous Beacon of Hate - a spooky Ham Radio beacon operating on the 30m military band. First logged transmissions are from the year 2000, but the beacon goes back to December 1999.

Im actually surprised how little this broadcast is talked about.

Insinuating that the military may have been behind this is scaremongering speculation. Although land military is nominally the primary user, in practice, the band 10100 - 10150kHz is used almost exclusively by amateurs. What I was drawn to is that the frequency is right next door to 10106kHz, used worldwide as a QRP (low power) calling frequency. Inexpensive crystals for this frequency are widely available and used for home-made projects, as are kits for simple transmitters (Norcal 49ers, OXOs, Pixies, Frogs, Oners to name but a few). MY speculation (since the station is on the same frequency every time) is that the culprit could be using a home-built transmitter - in line with many other operators of unlicensed beacons.

I'm confident it wasn't military.. I actually heard some of these broadcasts.. not a person who was totally familiar with morse.. very weak signals into centex.. Likely a milliwatt transmitter kit with easily available crystal, as you say.. My observations may be all off if the sending party was extremely intelligent, aware, and going to great lengths to disguise his fist (hand on key), and his expertise in general etc.. But I don't think so

The loss of the gold standard happened well before the 70s, it was done by FDR to pay for the start of socialist programs we are still paying for to this day. In the 70s what happened was that Nixon blocked the dollar to gold trade to foreign entities. The reasoning was basically if an American citizen couldn't exchange the dollar for equivalent gold, then why are we doing that for foreigners?

The beacon of hate started transmitting again around 2 years ago for a short time. Check out my uploads I did a video on its return! Maybe worthwhile spinning the dial in that direction every now and again to see if you catch it

@@RadioOddities I'll be very Frank. I do not believe that this person is the sharpest tool in the shed. If I were going to send out a morse code message on shortwave radio late at night of something I was passionate about, I would have a script that I went over several times and proof read and I would be very meticulous about the dit-dah-dit as I sent it out to make sure that it was spelled properly. I would imagine that if we met such a person in a bar and he had a couple of shots and them, he would pretty much sound is incoherent as this message.
