In today's video, we are reviewing the ‪@thehuntingbeast‬ Beast Gear Stand! Now this isn't like a normal review, we don't stand at a desk and read a spec sheet. We go over what chad likes about it and what mods he's done to it, and then we take it out in the woods and hang it on some pretty extreme trees to show of how versatile this stand is!
**DISCLAIMER**
WE HAVE BEEN USING MOBILE HANG ON STANDS FOR A LONG TIME AND ARE VERY COMFORTABLE WITH SETTING THEM UP. DO NOT TRY WHAT WE DO IN THIS VIDEO IF YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCED WITH SETTING UP MOBILE HANG ON STANDS!!!

Been running the Beast Stand all season. Replaced my XOP Vanish Evolution, which was good… but this thing is awesome! Super easy to setup and ridiculously light. I’ve reduced my takedown time & noise level in half. 2nd full season with the Beast Sticks as well-nothing comes close to their solidness & grip.

Every crazy tree you put it on from the 2 inch one to the 65 degree one was tight with one strap. Both straps would have made it extremely sturdy. Great video. I am getting a set of sticks and stand next year. I have to save up.

If you haven’t checked out the Stick, Stack, Stow system from Genesis 3D printing, you’re missing out. I added it to my Beast Sticks and whether you’re hunting out of a stand or saddle, it’s a lifesaver for keeping sticks together, being able to hang them from you/your pack while climbing, and being able to take them off one by one.

I agree with everything except the para cord for silence, you are going to making a whole lot more noise putting the stand in the tree and the paracord just really does not do anything to make it quieter while installing... I have this stand and I use it alot and really like it great review...

I have the Beast mini sticks and they stick to the tree great. The Beast stand is a little big for me (tried it at DeerFest), so I am waiting on the Beast mini stand I hear they will be making. Until then I am in a Trophyline EDP platform (3.8 lbs) with 2 Silent Approach steps on the platform strap to allow 360 if I need it, and hanging in a saddle and rappelling down at night, dropping sticks as I go. Once or twice going up on Beast sticks install my boot has scuffed the top step of my Beast sticks and made a ringing noise when I had to offset the antler bracket....that noise actually alerted a bedded doe to my presence a few weeks ago and it sucked, so I am going to try Bullman pioneer steps with EWO sewn buckle OCB straps to shave weight and potential noise.... but as far as sticks go, Beast minis have been my favorites (of the ones i have tried).

I ran into an issue with my Beast Sticks this season. After 2 seasons of flawless use I decided to add stealth strips to the sticks this year. When I reassembled the sticks I didn't cut the felt off where the brackets attach and tightened them as tight as I could and thought they were close to metal on metal. On my first hunt the aluminum bolt that goes through the bracket bent at a 90 degree angle but somehow didn't break completely and it was a safe climb up and down. I used 5 sticks and 2 of them, the bolts bent but the other 3 have been fine, many hunts later. Just something to be aware of. This was definitely user error on my part and my beast stand has been flawless so far.

I like that Dan put the teeth the whole way into the v of the platform. Thats one thing I dont like on a lot of stands. Lots of stands are also not wide enough at the back to engage any teeth at all. The wider that bracket is at the back the better. Honestly I wont be buying this stand, but theres something to be said about Dan a machinist by trade making a stand. I had the sticks and almost laid myself open on one.

Literally the inability to level and the sounds it makes when hanging makes this stand a no go for me. Scroll to the angled tree you hung in.. measuring the offset… and when you “shake”the stand squeaks. I had noise issues with the stand I had… which is why I don’t have it no more. (12:15 for failure to level… 23:20 for noise). But thanks for the video.

Is there a stand that can level in a tree at 12:15? You said inability to level but at 12:17 clearly shows the ability to level. Is there a stand that can be level at that steep of an angle?

Man people bash it but the phantom is a good place to start. I will say you need to get used to it. Trusting a rope is kinda sketchy. But after 6 or 7 times using the tether you start to feel good about it. Additionally make sure you get a ropeman or king duck. Way better then the knot. Please make sure you get the right assender for your rope size.

If your hunting where this isn't a lot of solid trees. A saddle would be a good option but I've never used one. If you have big oak trees to put a hang on up. Can't beat that. My best deer stand is 7 feet off the ground. Built it with 2x4s. It's right on the crest of a great ridge where deer funnel through. I have gotten a couple deer out of it and seen a nice buck but my dad's friend got 2 10 point bucks from the same stand 2 years in a row! Slightly jealous over here but it's a helluva stand in the middle of a giant oak tree. It's nice how close to the ground it is on one side. But 25 feet down to the backside. Nothing better than a pre built in a giant tree. You never get silhouetted.

Any of the Tethrd stuff is very light weight and well made. If tree stands are your thing and you can afford one of these, by all means get one. In my opinion you can get a saddle and have a lighter set up you can literally fit in your backpack. It’s all personal preference, just like which golf club you go with or hockey sticks or running shoe. It’s whatever fits you best for your scenario.

@@ronmacdougall9612 I've heard good things about trophyline saddles. There's a few I would like to try. John Eberhart has a two panel saddle that looks very comfortable for long sits. I have the original Tethrd Mantis saddle. It's very light and sort of comfortable. Long sits get kind of brutal towards the end of the hunt but most days I can get by. I definitely recommend the wild edge steps. I have 8 of them and it gets me up to about 20 ft with an aider. Works very well. Sticks are cool too but they can get very bulky and clink and clank when go through trees and brush. I like to be as least bulky as possible since I'm bushwacking on public a lot of the time.

This is such an ignorant comment. The lone wolf climber is nice but you have to have a tree with no limbs. Whenever you are setting up and taking down each hunt, the weight of the stand is amazing and just makes this style of hunting much more enjoyable. Am I going to kill more deer because of this lock on? No, but walking in and out and setting up is going to be a breeze.
