I have to say it will be almost impossible to carry when fully loaded without a shoulder strap, that thing is a beast but the small handle wont work, dave couldn't even lift it with two hands how is anyone else going to lift it with one and carry it. I challenge Dave to a new video where it has at least 50 lbs in the bag(so 50lbs plus the weight of the bag, which would be over 65 lbs) and I want to see him carry it with one hand from his bedroom through his doors, down the stairs and into a parked car. I bet it will be an adventure. I do like the addition of the handle for short distance carrying but any bag that size should at a minimum have a shoulder strap.

I’ve been using my beast in the back of my wagoneer for a few years now, works well. I have to say I’m surprised by the switch to that handle though. That’s a tremendous amount of stress in one location. I never used the previous straps in backpack mode because it’s a ridiculously sized bag for that, but the weight distribution on the old straps keeps the bag from stretching out. In all honestly I don’t see that strap and the lid of the beast aging well. I can regularly get my beast to clock in close to a hundred pounds.

Yes, that is a big concern I have as well. Kind of sad to see the change. Dave, is it possible to custom order the beast with the original straps? I'm sure you still have the blueprints and ability to do so. The Beast seems like just an incredibly over-sized toiletry bag otherwise.

I like it, it's not correct though. As I always say, there are many right solutions, but only one correct one. It is a beast sized bag, I wouldn't want to go through undoing 6 belt buckles when I'm in a jam and need some eats or some tea. For an off-road recovery bag it could work, but again, that's a lot of buckles. I've tried to reach out to Dave a few times since my first order in 2010, but as the president, he's not easy to reach. I get it though. Can't speak to every customer and time is money.

I keep coming back to this video and I want this bag but damn it no shoulder straps 😔 as is I see nothing more then a storage chest at home or a gym bag....even if i put it in the trunk of my car its out of place because I'd have hell trying to move it in order to get to my extra tire

He parked where I did for the 2018 Family Reunion. It's unquestionably my favorite parking lot ;) This bag is too silly/big to consider. Gimme a small suede tobacco waterbag . . . or better yet a carbon or earl grey Drs bag please.

Hey I'd really like it if you made some video teaching us about leather. I'm really young and only recently discovered I love leather. It smells and feels great and it is durable, and strong. I don't know there is just something that is just really comforting about it and I'd like to learn more about it. About how its made, how to take care of it, how to tell the difference in quality. Different types; different uses. I would absolutely love if you could make some videos about that sort of stuff and anything else you think you'd like to know if you were discovering leather again yourself. I bought your small leather notebook I use it to take notes I need in the U.S Air Force. Thanks again for your quality leathers even I can tell its great but I couldn't really tell anyone else how great it is with the amount I know about leather. @Saddleback Leather
