You would enter The Store, visit the different departments, and see a range of Audio and Visual products that were available in all genres from Rock, Pop, R&B, Jazz to Classical or dive into the ‘Bargain Basement’ for miscellaneous legacy titles deals.
Fast forward 15 years, and your online experience couldn’t be simpler to buy CDs, DVDs & Vinyl titles from some of the greatest artists.
Whether you buy from our site, iTunes, other digital outlets, or even your local High Street shop we are constantly adding to our catalogue to bring you great quality product and great prices.

Saw them 3 times in Central NY. Buddy Blue and later Joey Harrison. To be honest, the Buddy Blue version was my favorite lineup. But Joey Harrison was the better songwriter. They were a buried treasure for sure, but they had rabid cult fans all over the country. Yes, I still have all their albums and 3 years of the Almanac.

Wonder what year this was recorded? Country Dick died onstage in Victoria, B.C. November 8, 1995. I don't see Joey Harris here and this is the first time I've ever seen Rollie Love lead vocals. He has that Social Distortion vibe working. I was so blessed to have friends in a Houston band that always opened for The Beat Farmers back in the day. They'd play at this old rickety building, Fitzgerald's in the Heights on White Oak Bld, Houston Texas. The building was 2 stories. Downstairs was a place called Zeldas where bands played but upstairs was really cool. Old wooden building with a wraparound wooden porch, a big place where people would stand and/or dance then tables all around with 2 bars, I believe. Outside in the back was a large yard with a patio where we got to visit with these guys. The Beat Farmers are my very favorite band, still. There was nobody like them. They hung with Mojo Nixon and Reverend Hornton Heat. Kind of rock-a-Billy, mostly Cowpunk. Every single one of these guys were so kind and laid back. No egos. They always showed their fans a great time and great entertainment thanks to Country Dick's antics. Ya had to see him to believe it. He was an entertainer. Joey Harris and Jerry Rainey were/are talented singers and song writers. Rollie Love, an awesome bassist and they just all fit together. Powde Finger is a top favorite song. I bought the album Rust Never Sleep by Neil Young when I was 16 back in 1979. The Beat Farmers did such a fantastic job spicing it up a bit. The last time we saw them was in the Fall of 1995. One month later we got the news that Country Dick Montana (Dan Maclaine, his real name) had a heart attack onstage in British Columbia. Earlier that day he said he wasn't feeling well, dizzy. Into the beginning of the 4th song, Jerry started playing but Country Dick wasn't turning in on drums. Joey asked him if he was alright and he replied "No". Joey called for the crew and seconds later, Country Dick fell back and passed away immediately. He was 40 years old. He was rushed to hospital, worked on for about an hour but he was gone. I will always be grateful to have experienced many performances of theirs but I'll also be sad that I'll never see them perform on earth again. I'm sure there are so many people who say them often and have the same great memories of these guys that I and tons of others do. Rest In peace and thanks for the great shows and great vibes just being around you all.

I'm guessing it was summer of '85. Same time as Live Aid. I went to Live Aid in London, and the Beat Farmers were in town at the same time. I also saw Mojo Nixon play at Zelda's in the basement of Fitzgeralds in '91 or '92.

I was a friend of Buddy Blue in La Mesa Ca. He told me once that he wanted to do certain covers because the artist's record label would notice them. Buddy was huge Neil and Springsteen fan and wanted Bruce's attention regarding their version of Reason to Believe, for example. Lou Reed comes to mind also (There She Goes Again).

I knew him from our days on the newspaper staff at Grossmont College. He was developing his style as a writer, and music critic then, as well as his playing. We didn't always agree about the definition of "good" music, but he definitely had an appreciation for a wide range of artists, and liked to write about them. Just as they later were, his early reviews were always both opinionated, and well-informed. I may have thought that he was mistaken some of the time, but it was never because of a factual error. He always had those down. I ran into him a few years later, at Pete's Place, and bought him a shot of Maker's Mark. I also got to see him play there a few times, not long before he passed, with "The Flying Putos." We stopped by his place one night, after the show, and I was amazed by his collection of CDs. They took up a whole wall. He definitely hadn't stopped looking for old, and new, inspiration. I miss his reviews, and the great live shows. RIP Bernard "Buddy" Seigel. (All these years, I could have sworn it was "Siegel" but no one I knew dared call him Bernard.)

@@kurtkensson2059 You may have remembered a bunch motorcycle bums that used to show up to BF gigs. That was us. Buddy called me one Saturday afternoon and told me he was quitting the band and was striking out on his own. Monday , the San Diego Union carried the story. Buddy and I used to date a pair of sisters from LaMesa. Good times.
