Made right down here at the old WFAA channel 8 studios in downtown Dallas. The premise was that this was a Memphis TN show. That's where the emcee/disc jockey Hoss was from. Only the Dallas television studio was way more modern and suitable for recording in color. I don't remember the show airing in Texas even though it was produced and recorded here. Much of the talent originated here as well

Mid 1960s Westinghouse O&O station. Same thing as Mike Douglas Show out of KYW in Philadelphia. All the Westinghouse shows had the same look graphically but were high quality productions. From a time when non network product could still be seen regionally and sometimes be syndicated nationally. Gatemouth Brown as bandleader playing a late 50s Rickenbacker Capri, rare even then before displaying his other skills on violin. Look elsewhere on YT for another posting from "The Beat" featuring Louis Jordan, regarded as one of the founders of the small group R&B sound. With Jordan, Chris Columbo on drums, a legend in his own right.
