Great decorated walls. Thanks for your intro to the box. Surely valuable for fanatic collectors and those who are used to the US mastering sound. I will keep the Hard Day‘s Night soundtrack album which is all true mono and actually sounds pretty good. Still, at least for those who were used to the original UK masterings, the UK monos are still the ultimate.

Thanks for a great sonic review, Mike. There are a number of 'unboxing' videos of this boxset on KZbin, but few sound quality reviews. I agree, the sound quality of these releases is quite good. You've given a nice overview of the whole package here. Thanks again.

Hi Mike! I agree with your assessment. The box set is only “worth it” to the most loyal Beatles collector. Otherwise, the individual albums is a much-better buy.

Yes I was a fool, bought the blue vinyl, was so excited to remember what it felt like to put in the vinyl back in 1964, well I don't know what happened, but after I played this new meet the Beatles, I wish I missed the meeting, wow it sounds horrible , the mono with the Beatles , the mono please please me vinyl I have over 69 years old, sound awesome, powerful full of life, energy, this one , new 1964 repress of us meet the Beatles sounds like , I don't have the word, but I can tell you the word is not love

I tought also 290€ isn't worth the box, but I was lucky and was able to buy it for 190€ at Amazon and that is a reasonable price, not 290, thats just insane and shamless

4 of the 5 albums i bought caused my needle to jump out of the groove. Even after i clean each of them, the needle jumped straight out at the exact same spot. Anyone know how can i fix this?

No mono catridge. just the Hana ML stereo cartridge. I am sure a good mono cartridge would be an improvement in the sound. Thank you.

@@timheine5816 A mono cartridge is going to give you a better experience for sure on mono vinyl. I have thought about it but I really don't have many mono albums so it really hasn't been a priority and since my tone arm dosn't have a removable head shell, it would kinda be a pain to switch between them. I have thought about upgrading my turn table to the avenger and have two tone arms, that would be a good option but costly. Thank you

These were already released on CD in 2004 and 2006 (yes, the actual Capitol tapes in their actual mono AND stereo configurations). They sound very good and I like both stereo and mono everything Beatles. I have to admit that these vinyl pressings have been a disappointment to me (I purchased the six individually) as they sound VERY harsh to my ears. I have to go in to the next room to listen to them. I don’t have that issue with the 2004/2006 CDs of the exact same master tapes. Somewhere along the way (probably during the equalization process) they took pleasant sounding recordings and made them unpleasant. I have original mono pressings of all these Capitol releases and even though they have pops and clicks from 60 years of listening, the audio is better. Yes, the vinyl is quiet on these new releases, but the audio is an assault on my ears. My two cents.

Why oh why would you want to purchase something in mono when most of it are Fold down stereo mixes. If the set is available for £50 I’ll buy it. Until then. Nah!

I have the Hard Days Night and it sounds atrocious. Yeah, They passed what is exactly on the tape…which was not good. Distorted, tape warble…and muddy as hell. These are not good. I really feel like this was a waste. These don’t really beat the OG. These mono tapes sound like AM radio. I am frustrated all these reviewers all saying…it sounds great etc. well, Not me. The packaging is nice etc but this is a niche nostalgia thing and clearly a money grab. These records are plentiful in the used market, why remaster em? My disk looked clean but incredibly dirty. Lots of surface noise and inner groove distortion. Took 3 ultrasonic clean to fix. I thought maybe I got a bum copy. So I returned it and got another. Same exact thing. These are just a waste. Sure they are interesting listen but they really are silly. They should have just redid the UK mono box like 2014. Let’s remember these are heavily compressed cut loud mono recordings. They took a high def picture of a grainy picture. Avoid! Get the stereo….

I guess I was lucky, my copy's were very clean (even thoughI cleaned them before playing) and free from any snaps or pops and really pretty quiet vinyl which was a suprise. I thought they sounded pretty dang good for mono albums. Maybe they do the stereo albums soon? Thank you.

It is a waste of your money. if you still want to hear the horrible American remixes, buy the CD sets: "The Capitol Albums" 1 & 2. They contain all the US versions of the albums through Revolver, and you'll still have about $250 left to buy the full "Beatles In Mono" box in which you'll hear the real sound from the UK original tapes, and not this American disgrace.

I'm curious, where can you buy the Capitol Box 1 & 2 for only 40$. Ok Volume 1 you can maybe get for 30-40€, but Volume 2 costs at least 70$, so if you buy these two, you only have 110€ left, and for that you don't get the Beatles in Mono CD Box, you're still missing about 130€.
