My favorite part of this whole concert is when they play "I'm Down"...... Paul's Voice, John playing the keyboard...George cranking out, playing and looking as if they are having the time of their LIVES.. One of the best video of them just having fun,playing their music and the love they had for one another shines through.
@larl75513 жыл бұрын
I'm Down is the most fun video. I just love all the early videos. They loved playing together and they did have so much fun. But even on the rooftop, with everything going on, they were enjoying playing music together.

This will never ever happen again, no matter how good a band is or how great their songs are. George Martin said it right: The Beatles were of their time, they came along at exactly the right time when this perfect storm of so many things came together. The baby boom after WW2 which created massive amounts of kids, recording technology becoming better, them showing up in the USA right after JFK was assassinated playing on TVs that were now in most peoples homes, the haircuts, the first from England, it just goes on and on and on the unbelievable luck they had. If they came out 10 years earlier, they would have never have been as successful. That will never ever be replicated in a million years. Like Paul Simon said, Simon and Garfunkel were popular but the Beatles were a phenomenon, just this freak occurrence where this good band has all this unreal luck .
@MrEnoBeano5 жыл бұрын
You left out the most important factor. They were the most talented original band on the planet ever.
@mickavellian5 жыл бұрын
The facts are so infinitely impossible... John Paul & George 5'11" . Paul knew George as kids but later discovered George had learned and was GREAT. They all were BORN between 1940 and 1942 in the middle of WW2 and were ALL a bus ride away from each other. you have 2 songwriter in a group but 4 ?? The line in Eleanor Rigby "Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave "was thrown into a converstaion by..... RINGO Because te original line was "Father McCartney tending the flowers..." and Ringo was .. NO NO NO lads.. The day the Beatles went to Parlophone, a different lower level A&R man was supposed to meet them . but George Martin filled for the guy who was NOT a musician. and George Martin first heard the "Aeolian Cadences" and thought they were professionally trained musicians. the song was "Misery" a throw away they had . and john thought George Martin was "Daft when he refer to the Aoliclic Cadences. all around this could seem like a careful PLAN orchestrated by a fantastic magician. I like to think that GOD was in a very good moor after the war and said "let me reward these kids"
@mrfester425 жыл бұрын
All that is true... as far as it goes. What you forgot to mention is that Lennon & McCartney were the two greatest songwriters of the twentieth century and that was the biggest factor in their success.

@@mrfester42 It has been said. the greatest IN HISTORY and that includes the GREATS. I saw a video of famous pianists playing McCartney songs (ONLY MACCA) in the style of the GREATS, and MACCA was far superior. Lennon's "Happiness is a war gun" and his lyrics are said to make Edgar Allen Poe read like a children book "SHe's not a girl who misses much.... "She's well acquainted with the touch of her hand as a lizard on a window pane.." ???? THAT makes any [poet sound like a highschooler.
