If you guys thought that Paul improvised that then you're as dim-witted as Bottom; that was all in the script. The mechanicals thought that having death would frighten the ladies, as they would've thought it was real, and not just a play.
@Umbra_Magna7777 жыл бұрын
First off, it's rather pretentious to call someone dim-witted for not knowing what you do beforehand. Even if Jesselyn and I had known that before hand, I still would probably say that Paul's way of comforting the girls was sweet, and I really don't think we're stupid for thinking that. As fascinating as I find your knowledge of the play to be, please don't go insulting people for not knowing what you do.

I'd have to say that Sir Ringo Starr won this Shakespearean costume contest by a county mile! 🎶🧑🎤

I am glad I found this skit. I have been waiting for it since 1965 when I saw a picture of it in Sixteen Magazine, if I remember well. Loved it. Really funny. The Beatles could do anything in such a happy way. Beatles forever. By the way, I wonder why people keep on writing Paul is dead when everybody knows that invented stgory was only a way to show how people can be manipulated.

I remember seeing this on TV back in 1964 and wondering what? I believe it was a skit from A Midsummer's Night Dream. If you can find the original movie with a very young Mickey Rooney watch it. Rose Prulx

Virginia Avery, how's so very true. Look at the propaganda Trump puts out and expects all of us to believe him .

I saw this skit as part of a Christmas special on {black and white} television probably in 1965 or so. It's as funny as I remember it. Amazing that I can watch it in color some 55 years later, and save it to watch any time....

Imagine if they had an episode on SNL, had they stayed together to host and/or be a musical guest.

I laughed so hard I nearly suffocated. This is the best version of Pyramus and Thisbe I've ever seen. I took a Shakespeare class in 1982. We had to bring in crafts (props, posters, etc). Oh God, if I could have brought this!! That sword was so tiny probably because John can't be trusted with sharp objects XD George is the cutest and always will be :-P The dog nearly pulled him right over once, but he did a great job. Leave it to the Beatles to wear their ankle boots with their costumes.

SHADDUP could have been John's catch phrase as he used it at least once again during a concert when Paul was having trouble introducing the next song due to the screaming of fans.
