Although there are various jewels in the Let It Be album, Don't Let Me Down, I Dig a Pony, I've Got a Feeling, Get Back, and One After 909 ultimately were the only songs that accomplished the goal they set to have a "live recording and return to their R&R roots", when they started the "Get Back Sessions". Shame that Don't Let Me Down didn't make the final cut. I love this "primal scream" version. Lennon was truly one of a kind.

Interesting, it seems that in the end Lennon is talking as if he was in an ficticious band, something like 'Rock and the rollers', and he calls himself 'Dirty Mac', which turned out to be the name of the supergoup that he formed to play in Stones movie, along Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchell =)

What John actually said was "Rocky & the Rubbers". He's actually making fun of a fictitious name that Paul had come up with, which was "Ricky & the Red Coats". Part of the original concept of the "Get Back" movie project was for The Beatles to do a secret club tour under a fictitious name, and that was the name Paul suggested. Eventually the tour idea was scrapped and the goal was one concert, but even that proved problematic in the end, which is how they ended up doing the rooftop show. And then the cops pulled the plug on that one before they could even do a complete set. But it was a great performance while it lasted... and sadly the last time we ever saw The Beatles together.
