I’ve been to Abbey Road a few times, once to mix a song I recorded in Nashville . About fifteen years ago on a warm sunny day in July I had just spoken to a woman named Fiona who worked at the studio, she was great. I asked her “I’ve been her quite a few times over the years, then just catch the tube back to Chiswick after, what should I do for rest of the day ? “ She said “ Have you ever just taken a long walk around St. John’s Wood ? “ No I hadn’t . She said just walk down the side streets, find the local pubs - I had done that in mid seventies - ,and the local pharmacy, and grocery stores . What a great idea. I spent two hours just blindly walking . Found both a couple of grocery stores,a pharmacy ,and a restaurant . It was remarkable - albeit expensive opposed to Central London - . I chatted it up with the locals on Acacia ,Groves End , bought some ice cream -someone gave me a spoon, no ice cream cones in the area - It was just a very pleasant way to spend a nice summers day. BTW I went the opposite way of Paul’s house, I wanted to see how nice the other “multimillionaire’s were. Once I told them I was from San Francisco they asked me more questions than I asked them. This was before all the Eastern European oligarchs had bought up London, and its burbs. The people were great. I would suggest this to anyone that is taking a pilgrimage to Abbey Road Studios. Ps. When I first spent a summer traveling through the UK ,and Europe in early seventies Abbey Road - St Johns Wood tube stop was not commercialized as it is now. It was just a high market area of London with leafy streets in the autumn ...

I'd rather have this than Kenwood, Tittenhurst, Friar Park. Those places are just too elaborate but Friar must have been fun to live in. Expensive upkeep for sure

I was there at Paul's house a few years ago , I couldn't see over the fence so I got on top of the taxi cab I was in and took photos of his house, some guy that worked for Paul said he just left in his Rolls, a lady was looking thru a window, must have been his maid , I'm lucky she didn't call the Police. There was a BMW in the drive way, must have been the Maid's car.

I was just there all the graffiti is gone in front of Abbey Road Studios and there is a security camera.

All that graffiti takes away from the beautiful architecture of Abbey Road Studios. I am sure that if they cleaned it up idiots would just start to vandalize it with more graffiti. I would make it a jailable criminal offense.

It was there when I visited the Studio in April of 1990, and I believe you are correct: if they got rid of the graffiti, it would reappear the next day. One cool thing that differs between 1990 and now, is that the outer gate was not locked back then. We walked up to the front entrance, opened the door and walked inside. Immediately inside the door to the right, was a desk with a security guard sitting at it. We asked if there was any way we could get a look at the studios. "No, sorry lads, but we are an active recording studio and artists are booked and using the studios today." "Come on, really, we came all the way from America." There were five of us 17/18-year-old American boys in my group. "Sorry guys, I can't do it." "Please?!? We'll give you 200 pounds!" For clarity, 200 pounds is roughly $400. At least, it was back then. Adjusting for inflation, that's almost $850 now. Not a small bit of money. He laughed, then gave us the final shutdown with "No, I'm really sorry, but you boys need to run along."

Thank god they got rid of the hip hop artist on the wall. This is a legendary ROCK recording studio.

Don't be so ignorant. More than just rock artists have recorded at Abbey Road.
