It's funny cus that actually depends on who you ask cus there are definitely people who preferred the older works than the later. In my opinion I believe that is a sign of just how amazing this band was regardless of which era of their music they were at it was so good that you have so many people who love all of their work and multiple factions who also love specific eras in their music

I first heard of and saw them 51 years ago yesterday 2/9/64 on their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. I was in 2nd grade. Two years later I was 9, my sister was 12, and our mother took us to see them live on 8/19/66 in Memphis- our first concert ever. My sister and I got this album for Christmas when it came out and we wore out the vinyl listening to this song, our favorite. So uplifting and hopeful, especially in the cold wintertime. But I lost her 20 years ago to breast cancer, on New Year’s Eve 2000, so now this song always chokes me up. I still miss her and would give anything to have her back. RIP Lynda. Until we’re together again, then we’ll rip it up like we always did when you were here. ❤️

I'm certain I was introduced tot hem when I was 7. All I remember is mum pulling me into the living room, putting 'The Red Album' on, my standing there thinking 'This had better be good', and then one second later dancing around the living room with her to 'Love Me Do'. I was introduced to the Blue Album a day or so later. If I remember right and I was 7 when this happened, then this would have been around the time when George died (he was Dad's favourite Beatle for various reasons including his bringing Indian music to mainstream culture - dad's not Indian but he loves the music and the culture - I think he even said at one point that he was something like a father figure to him for a bit), because in 2016 every time a famous singer died they spent half the day getting their old cds of them out and listening to them non-stop (interesting experience holding your mums hand at the table listening to 'So Long Marianne'), so it makes sense that they'd introduce me to the Beatles as a response to George Harrison's death. A year later I was the only one who seemed to remember the rest of the lyrics to 'yellow submarine' (I read the lyrics in the booklet the cds had).

I saw The Beatles live on TV in 1964 when I was a little kid and their music was so fresh, so new, so modern. I didn't know it at the time they were inspired by American rock n roll of the 50s and early 60s like Chuck Berry, The Everly Brothers and many more. They took those inspirations and made it their own. They also took songwriting at a whole different level with a new look that still is impacting music culture today. I was totally impacted by The Beatles at a such a young age artistically especially their psychedelic era. You should interview Ringo who lives in L.A. via Zoom.

My favorite Beatles song is the last one I heard. Never saw them perform. First time I saw them was on their American TV debut on The Ed Sullivan Show. I was 6. My mind was blown. The Beatles are pure joy. You're great! I love your comments.

I was in the hospital last year, and usually woke up at 5:00 AM. I would lay there, and watch the sky get lighter. After a few days, I started playing thus as the Sun came up thru my window. Great way to start the say off right. Helped me get through it.

Hey man, regarding your question, I probably consumed hundreds of hours of the Beatles before I could have even articulated who they were. Parents played their records, played on the radio, and my Mom would play them on the Piano and sing them to me as a baby... The Beatles are basically so wormed in my brain I couldn't describe ME without their music...

I was maybe 7 years old! I’m 55 now! My older sisters had all their albums. When I got to high school there were always music books on the piano in the band room! About half of the songs in them were written by Lennon/McCartney! I realized I knew all those songs by heart inadvertently! Lol! My true appreciation of them started in high school and has grown exponentially!

Too young to see them live but the first time I saw McCartney and he played Beatle songs I was in the very last seat at the top of Staples Center. I was in tears and looked around to wipe my face when I noticed everyone else was too. They became a studio band and weren’t touring by the time these songs were made.

I first heard of The Beatles in 1963 from my British pen pal, when I was 13. Finally, they released an album in America, which I bought the day it came out. But the first Beatle song I heard on the radio was their version of "Twist and Shout", a few weeks before the album came out.

The Beatles Split in 69 and stopped gigging in 66. Most of their concerts were drowned out by fans screaming virtually all the time.

1963. The first time I had head of the Beatles, I was 10. "Beatlemania" was headed to the shores of the U.S. and most of us knew little of what to expect except it was the single hottest topic among us. I would have thought their popularity was at its peak with the screaming girls and their rock and roll but it was only just beginning. They would put out a song and days later it would be #1 on the charts. Several times they had multiple top 10 hits at the same time. The greatest music phenomenon of my generation.

Fall of 1963. On Friday nights at the time was the Jack Paar Show (former and founding hose of the Tonight Show on NBC). He had a 14-year-old daughter, Randy, who took home movies as she and her parents traveled around. This night, he showed film she had taken on their trip to the UK that summer. One clip showed an audience of mostly young teenage women going beserk at a concert by 4 young men. It was crazy. These guys looked very strange to me in my crew-cut American world, and you could hardly hear their music over the screams of the audience. Paar said they called themselves the Beatles. A few months later, those guys were appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show on national TV, and they soon had the Top Ten list almost to themselves.

The Beatles concerts were soooo crazy. Girls just screamed and screamed and fainted. This spawned the name "Bealtmania". this is why they stopped touring quite early in their career and concentrated on recording resulting in the amazing music such as Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club album which was the biggest selling album and created a huge impact for its originaltiy around the world. I grew up a few miles from were they came from and my lucky cousins who were a little older than me got to see them perform in the "Cavern" the famous club which led to the careers of so many other bands from the Liverpool area. I was 13 and remember getting their first ever "LP" for Christmas and it was the best present I ever got. ...Now i love George the best as i think he created some amazing music before and after the Beatles and was in the shadow of John and Paul. LIsten to some of George's music too. He was a wonderful person. RIP

My first memories of listening to the Beatles was my first memories, My Mom played them endlessly. Thanks Mom! Elenor Rigby and Paperback Writer are currently juggling for the top two but actually the Beatles greatest material is whatever Beatles song you're currently listening to.

I saw the Beatles live in Portland Oregon in August 22, 1965. The audience was mixed. A lot were screaming fans, mostly hysterical girls. It was deafening non-ending scream. Some people were grooving to the music. Where we were sitting, we could actually hear them. Overall, it was an amazing concert of a lifetime. Seeing the Beatles live in concert was a very big deal for everyone.

This is one of the most uplifting songs ever. I got to say most Beatles songs make me feel happy but there are some that really make you feel just a little sorrowful but in a good way. It’s hard to describe but listen to In My Life, Julia, Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, or For No One and you’ll get what I mean. They’re all beautiful songs with deep meanings.

I got into the Beatles the first time I saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show (Another VERY special individual). I remember that it was on my mothers birthday and there were friends over that kept talking about how beetles were going to be on the show. Being very young (6yo), I didn't know what they were talking about, but Ed's show ALWAYS had something new and special to show. Trying to imagine what they were talking about, the only thing my child's mind could come up with, was that it was some sort of trained bug act or something. And like every Sunday evening, we all sat down to catch Ed's show...and watched history being made. Truly, I don't know why it had such an impact on me, being so damn young, but it did. But I remember it very well. And it started an incredible musical journey for me. THEY are the reason I learned to play guitar. THEY are the reason I got into writing songs. Don't get me wrong; there were plenty of other bands over the years that grabbed my attention...The Who...Pink Floyd...The Moody Blues and a few others. But NONE of them ever came close to the MAGIC these guys had. There was just something very special about their music. And I am sooooo happy that I grew up in the time that allowed me to witness it as it happened. I'd like, when it's my time to move on, that whoever is taking care of me as I lie dying, that they ensure that there's a stereo turned on that's playing the Beatles. I'd like the last thing I hear leaving this part of my life, to be the music of the gods; THE BEATLES. THANK YOU JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE and RINGO.

I don't remember the first time I heard one of their songs on the radio, but I remember watching them show up on a North American TV screen for the first time on The Ed Sullivan Show, February 9, 1964, so it's been a while! So much Beatles goodness for you to discover, James. Happiness Is A Warm Gun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, For No One, Eleanor Rigby, Lady Madonna, I Am The Walrus, Two Of Us, I Will, Something, Magical Mystery Tour, I Feel Fine, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, If I Fell, She Said She Said, Because, Mother Nature's Son, And I Love Her, Julia, She's Leaving Home, A Day In The Life, and so many more. Never saw The Beatles live (I was too young) but I understand the concerts were mainly a screamfest for the girls. Impossible to pick one favorite Beatles song, as they had too many great ones.
