I Feel Fine represents the crest of the Beatlemania wave that encompassed the globe in the twilight of 1964. By the time of their next album HELP! in the summer of 1965 the music landscape had changed. Though still the Kings of the Hill the Beatles now had a lot of stiff competition. The feedback actually occurred during the recording of Eight Days A Week. Both songs were being completed the same day as the deadline for a single and the album Beatles For Sale was at hand. Ringo plays the great Ray Charles song What'd I Say off beat tom tom drum pattern on the the verses of I Feel Fine. This was a beat Pete Best couldn't master. When Ringo sat in with the Beatles (when Pete was ill) in their early 1960's Hamburg trips, the Beatles took notice and the writing was then on the wall for Mr. Best. I Feel Fine is my favorite Beatle song. Take care Cimdy, RNB

FWIW Cimdy, Ringo was 24. 5 months John 24. 2 months Paul 22. 6 months George 21.10 months when I Feel Fine was released in early Dec, 1964. Amazing!!!

In 1965, Brian Wilson, The Kinks, The Stones, The Who, The Byrds, The Loving Spoonful, The Righteous Brothers The Mamas and the Papas and all of Motown were selling millions and millions of units. . In 1964 it was the Dave Clark 5 and The Animals and not much more. In my view, the competition was significantly stiffer in 1965. I suppose we will will have to agree to disagree. No worries. @@TheAerovons In 1964 The Stones , Pacemakers and the Hollies worldwide record sales were a blip on the scale compared to the Beatles total record sales/concerts tour and film gross's. Regionally speaking those singles did sell reasonably well, but worldwide their impact was nominal. 1965 saw the Beatles sharing the charts with all these acts we've mentioned in a far more competitive way than in 1964. How long did Please Please Me and With The Beatles LP's dominate the UK LP Chart sales. . Their A Side singles available in 1964, A Hard Days Night, Can't Buy Be Love, I Feel Fine as well as 1963 releases I Want To Hold You Hand, She Loves You and From Me To You dominated the #1 spot on record sales and radio airplay charts around the world. Time Is On My Side, Ferry Across The Mersey and Just One Look singles did sell, but they were dwarfed by the Beatles 1964 total output/unit sales. My point is in 1965 that chasm shrank considerably. Even though The Beatles were still far and away the "Kings of the Hill". RNB

Well, first RECORDED use. It was present in the late '40s and all thru the '50s, but of course was shunned and discouraged. And it wasn't so great on-stage, either because it wasn't as controlled as John learned to do it.

Another great early Beatles Lennon classic. Great lead vocal by John and great harmony by Paul George as always. This song just drives along so nicely and one of the great all time feel good songs. Great one for driving down the road, turn up the volume and shout out with them "I'm so glad that she's my little girl" just so damn catchy. Back in the early to mid seventies when I was in highschool when my friends and I would be driving along the back roads and smoking 🚬 marijuana and we had a tape playing and this came on we would all be shouting out this one. At the very begining of the intro that noise that sounds like a mistake actually was intentionally. That was the greatness of the Beatles, they were always trying new things and had no fear to include in the records. There is an album wich contains rehersals of this song and Lennon, i guess, failed twice trying to creat this particular feedback sound.
