I Feel Fine is one of my very favorite Beatles songs. It is historically significant due to the fact that it was (perhaps) the very first song to incorporate feedback. What happened was while they were working on the song, John Lennon leaned his guitar against the amp and it started feeding back. The Beatles were like "that's so cool. Can we use that?" And George Martin said yes. Another of my favorite songs is a rather obscure one in their catalog, You're Going to Lose That Girl. Hope you check it out!!

No. A lot of bands used feedback on purpose, but only live.

When I saw the video I had to laugh. It looked as if poor Ringo was tasked with pedaling his heart out in order to generate the power for everyone else’s electric guitars.

That "squeaky sound" was revolutionary. At least John thought so.

the feedback was produced by paul plucking a note on his bass and john's guitar leaning on paul's amp picking up feedback in the studio

The intro is unique -- a sustained note with volume gain. The guitar riff is the hook and it's legendary. The percussion is crisp and precise. The vocals are stellar with a tincture of The Everly Brothers. After listening to this, I DO feel fine! I'm grateful that I grew up with this sound. I still own this tune on a 45. Ringo is well..., Ringo!

Ringo: did the Ray Charles What I'd Say beat behind this song. Very unique. The American version we heard was on a lot more reverb or echo. Standard practice by Capital Records - owned by EMI, same company that owned Parlophone Records in the UK.

I like everything about this song, from the guitar feedback intro to Ringo's drumming. The Beatle's were one of the first to do these promotional films (music videos) and they felt a little silly doing them so they are often goofing around. Especially in the early ones and they are fun to watch, have you done "Paperback Writer" yet? Thank you, Darling.

I've come to believe that I Feel Fine represents the crest of the Beatlemania wave that enveloped the free world throughout 1964. This was early December 1964. The Beatles didn't release a brand new single till April of 1965 (Ticket To Ride/Yes It Is) . By then, the British Invasion was in full force and American bands were making great strides. The music landscape was growing. These new bands were filling the nearly 5 month absence of the Beatles from the Top of the Charts till May 27. I Feel Fine was the last song connected solely to Beatlemania. Cannabis played a big part of the changes in store from the Beatles throughout 1965. Culminating in the game changing album Rubber Soul. Released in November 1965. 50 weeks after the release of I Feel Fine. Great reaction K.S.O. I really enjoyed it, RNB

Nice early Beatles song choice, K! A #1 hit song BTW. Have three more #1 hit suggestions I didn't see on your video page, I know you'll love too, from their early days: "Can't Buy Me Love", "Eight Days A Week", and "She Loves You". I heard your struggle trying to interpret certain Beatles songs like I Am The Walrus. Some of theirs are special works of music art like surrealism and abstract art, where the words & phrases are used as music rather than mere logical sentences. (Interpretation is open on those! LOL) Unless it's plainly understandable phrasing like an I Feel Fine, just flow with the interesting music combined with the unusual wordplay usually coming from some of John's material. There's another #1 hit song from their later-day you would love "Hey Jude" (1968) but there's two sources you could do this song from. Either the post-Beatles "1" album collection of #1 hits where you'll find it. Or even better, the Beatles playing it before a live audience on the David Frost Show, shortly after it's release and climb to #1, where you can see them perform it with the audience actively taking part in it! And they play it live very close to the sound of the immortal studio release. Here's a link to it, and note the views it has... kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5Cwm3anhtR_gqM Enjoy your Beatles trip dear heart! ✌😎

This is a song that is just a lot of fun playing and singing. "This Boy" and "I'll Follow the Sun" are similarly beautiful and simple perfect little love songs packed into a couple of minutes. I wish they would make it easier and more straight-forward for creators on here. It is a service to humanity, having its cultural treasures curated and shared forward for our children's children's children to enjoy while travelling eternity road.

Such clever songwriting! Take a very simple lyric: "Baby said she's mine. She tells me all the time. " Make it more interesting: "baby said she's mine, ya know, she tells me all the time, ya know, she said so!" Much more appealing!
