if you're talking about the video quality these are from super ghetto VHS rips of the original film reels from the 80s, I think from when they made the actual VHS version? Maybe video assists when they were editing it back together, not sure but regardless the actual rolls of film that peter jackson and his team were rescanning were in much better shape than these
