In 50 years time wonder if they will say the podcast ended because Steven sat on an amp? Take care lads! What a fantastic podcast!

According to Pattie Boyd’s memoir, she is the one who was searching for real estate and she is the one who found friar park. She was very involved in the redecoration and restoration of the estate.

Quite the change from John and Paul making the final decisions on The White Album in November 1968 to George and Phil Spector making the final decisions on Let It Be in February 1970

Great episode guys, all that detail and the timeline was fascinating. With regard to the LIB album release, I find it bizarre that the only version released in May that year was the box with the book retailing at 59/11 which was an absolute fortune at the time. Can you imagine them doing this now, it would be like , only releasing the super deluxe box and that’s it. Everyone would have to wait until November for the standard release.

I used to wish I had that edition until I heard it fell apart when you'd thumb through the book - then it was great when everything from the booklet was included in the books that came with the remix last year. So - everybody's happy.

@@farrellmcnulty909 not only the book was delicate, the cardboard tray it sat in was equally frail. Fortunately there is a guy on eBay selling replacement inners for £20.

I think given what the judge wrote in 1971, it is evident that the Eastman’s had a right to raise question of Paul having equivalent voting rights when discussing the potential of a future Northern Songs board. The fact that the Eastman’s raised this question was seen as them being overbearing by the hosts in one of the “Nothing is Real” Allen Klein podcasts, However, if the judge felt that the John, George and Neil majority board meeting called after “Liberty Bell II” (to ratify Klein in) was questionable given the major business decisions facing the group, the Eastman’s then were certainly within reason and sensible to see that Paul would be never be in position of being continuously outvoted in future business decisions.

I like both the single and LP versions of Let it Be. I go back and forth between them. Do I want horns or choirs in the chorus? A soft guitar solo or the shredder?

I'd like to vehemently complain about the quality of your podcasts!! I have a family and career to look after, but how do you expect me to do prioritise these things, when you serve up hours and hours of additively top grade Beatles stuff? P.S. if Mr Lewishon does not finish hus books, please be ready to take over. Yours sincerely, hoping never to eat Beatles cold turkey!! Love from London

My fantasy version of the Get Back project is they write five more songs and then go to a different rooftop in a different city and do it again. Then one more time in a different city and bam. New album. Then they do Abbey Road. My fantasy version of Apple is they just turn it into Motown. Set up a promotion team , a recording team, and touring team and start sending out touring packages to promote artists.

As to Spector's treatment of Let It Be.... I think his version is the best one out there. He has two impacts on the album, or three. One he selects good takes and edits them very well. Dig A Pony is much better without Harrison's for backing vocals and the intro singing. he takes them out- good choice. Two of Us and For You Blue are crisp. His best edit is lengthening I me Mine. The Audio verite' comments and edit of Dig It are quirky, but I like them. Then there are his three big orchestral scores. I think it works great on Across the Universe. and as much as enjoy the other versions- this one is the best. I me Mine gets added power. Long and Winding Road is over the top, but his version DOES turn it into a decent single. I've never really bought Johns, McCartney or Martin's complaints about the album; especially after I heard Johns version. Some of Johns choices are just atrocious. The improvement over Johns version AND Naked is just so obvious to me; Spector's version is much better. Yes, a naked version of Long and Winding road is good and would have been a great album track, but in total, for me, there is no doubt about which album is better. And the album needed one more big song, Road does that. And it fits with Universe and I Me Mine. My only wish would have been for the all the rockers/rooftops to have been on side one (including Don't let Me Down) and the rest on side two. That would have been more coherent. I also much prefer George Martin's Let it Be, but I'm glad we get a different sounding version on the album.
