The Beatles work load during the sixties is a incredible mix of a pop/children's music phenomenon that might be fading and four true artists moving forward and growing in strength with every new release. An amazing group of young men. Thank you gentlemen for the great information.

Rubber Soul reflects Macca wanting to get the bass and drums to sound like Motown records. Eight Feet Away = Eight Arms to Hold You.

The Think for yourself 'tape' was recorded while they were recording the backing vocals, the backing vocals went to the 4 track tape then they would switch recording to another tape machine inbetween takes/segments, this is 18:55 of that.

"I'm Looking Through You" - in the U.S., it took years until I was aware of a false start on the stereo mix on Crap-It-All. It was great to hear it after I'd read about it, and thankfully the 2004 box set of the Capitol albums LEFT the false start in it 😆😆😆. Now, it was great enough to become aware of it and have a copy, but it would have been wild to discover it myself - "hang on, what's this?"

This album would benefit even more (than Revolver) from a Giles remix

Thanks you guys very detailed and informative. I like rubber soul I had it on vinyl; it’s in my top 6 Beatles albums- I like Michelle; and also think for yourself. There are 5 albums better in my opinion….

I really hated "The Word" when I first heard it, it was that jaunty piano thing at the beginning that threatened to ruin it, but it grew on me. I love the sound of the final verse, the words and overall sound of it "now that I know what I feel must be right, I'm here to show EVERYBODY the light" - John really got passionate with it.

23:15 .. I was hoping for a woman that gave me like a man intellectually. That's not about Paul only, not even about men. John was a reader, so was his aunt Mimi, and in his youth (maybe later on too), John and Mimi discussed a lot the books they read.

38:00 eight feet away. Four Beatles, eight feet. Just a guess.🙄

Yes, indeed, it's obvious. C'mon guys! The UK cover - striking and quintessentially Beatles. The Word - have never loved it

I have to agree with you guys and Capitol about the HELP cover. The UK version looked really bland and boring. I think it was their only bad-looking cover.

What Capitol Records did with Beatles albums, including their "file under Pop/Vocal Group" bullshit shows an ignorance of just what they had in their hands that is comparable to RCA Victor Records treatment of Elvis Presley's 1970s recordings, (the endless "live" albums with a couple of throw away studio tracks).
