This isn't a criticism. I'd love you to play on the back end of the beat like ringo does. Your timing is great. But ringo always played on the end. Great job lad

Question about the fill at 1:34. Does the left hand play the high tom or the snare? I'm figuring the right hand is snare but I'm not entirely sure.
@davidmontis7259 Жыл бұрын
Left hand starts on the high tom. Right hand on the snare. At least that is how I play the fill. Different variations can be played.

Hey @davidmontis7259! Love your vids. Just curious, what is your mic setup for this song, and for the overall Rubber Soul era? It sounds awesome! Thank you!
@davidmontis72594 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! This mic set up is essentially the same setup I have just with just a few differences. The snare and kick is a Pyle PDmic78 and the overhead was the Audio Technical AT2020.
@hamueramusic Жыл бұрын
mic snare from underneath to sound more like beatles pls
@davidmontis7259 Жыл бұрын
They didn’t start miking the snare underneath until the Pepper era. Up until then they only had an overhead mic and a kick drum mic. So a microphone under the snare for this song wouldn’t work I’m afraid.

I don't know enough about recording drums to describe it correctly, but there's a very distinct quality to the sound of your drums that I like a lot but that I'm having a hard time putting my finger on. They seem very close and non-echo-ey ... or something. Are you doing something unusual with the mics or processing?
@davidmontis7259 Жыл бұрын
It might be the processing that I use. I am using a couple of compressor plugins to get cymbal fade in sound that is heard in many songs in this time of their career. And it does change the whole sound of the kit. Combine with other plugins, that is the sound you are hearing. Thanks for commenting!

That is an awesome drum cover my friend. That is one of my favorite Beatle's song to drum to too. What stroke roll is that that you use?
@davidmontis7259 Жыл бұрын
It just a buzz roll that starts on the left hand. There is also the occasional single stroke roll played throughout the song as well. Thanks for commenting! Definitely a fun song to play.
