Jayy, you are correct. The Beatles have so many different sounds. That is what made them special. Yesterday, for the first time ever, i sat down and listened to the first two Rolling Stones albums, to see what they had to offer, since they seem to feel they could compete with The Beatles, and there is no comparison. Each Stones song sounds the same, especially since they only have one singer...if you can call Jagger a singer. I wanted to give them a chance, but I learned that I have been correct for all these years, The Beatles are the Greatest by far. Thanks for the reaction.

There is a video (I've watched it MORE than one time) George Harrison, you know, the guy in THE BEATLES that WROTE the song was being interviewed and the interviewer said to GEORGE "and PAUL played a great bass line in that song", GEORGE answered " no, that's ME playing bass and PAUL played the drums on OLD BROWN SHOE"! Look for that video yourself, do your own research.

Jayy, I am so happy that you’re reacting to some of their older songs. Please react to “If I Fell”. It’s a beautiful song from an earlier album with some of the most beautiful harmonies ever recorded. This song, “Old Brown Shoe” is one of George’s early compositions and I love it. It must have been intimidating to try to write songs with the amazing Lennon/McCartney partnershipto compete with, but he did a fine job and eventually wrote some incredible songs. Thanks Jayy🌺✌️

In addition to playing bass on "Old Brown Show" Paul is also playing the drums, Ringo was away filming the movie "The Magic Christian" which also starred Peter Sellers. This was the flip side of the single "BALLAD OF JOHN and YOKO" which was just John and Paul on this one. Paul AGAIN plays the drums on "Ballad of John and Yoko" HOPE you will react to it as well. It's an actual song about events in John and Yoko's early time together. GREAT SONG

Old Brown Shoe was released as the B side of The Ballad Of John And Yoko. Making it the only single in which Ringo Starr does not appear on either side of a Beatles single. As with The Ballad Of John And Yoko, Paul McCartney handles the drums on Old Brown Shoe as Ringo still had not returned from filming The Magic Christian (staring Peter Sellers) RNB

There is debate on this, but most who have researched state it is George. Mark Lewishon , who wrote the defintive 'Abbey Road sessions book' based on his access to all the EMI Abbey Road archives and session tapes,, states it was George.
