13:11 NO, the Beatles *did not* finish out the year performing gigs around the UK. They had a contractual obligation to do another series of concerts in Hamburg, so they reluctantly returned there to finish out the year starting on December 18.. This fact is pretty well known.

Pete Best did not fulfill other gig obligations after he was dismissed from The Beatles. It should be also noted George Martin did not like Ringo's attempt at Love Me Do and brought in Andy White ( a session drummer ) to make that initial recording.

They didn’t refuse to record How Do You Do It. They did record it but did not like it. Please Please Me was better

Brian Epstein never managed The Beatles without the group first signing a contract. As Brian well knew the initial contract was not legal since neither Paul or George were 21 in ‘62. This contract was later rewritten and compensated Brian fairly with the fathers of the underage Beatles signing the postage stamps. George Martin did not sign The Beatles to a recording contract, did not see them as viable commercially and was not even initially present during their initial recording session. EMI publisher Thomas Humphrey Tilling wanted the royalties of Beatle originals and forced Martin to record them according to Mark Lewisohn. Martin never liked “Love Me Do” and was set on issuing “How Do You Do It” but for reasons not exactly clear the Lennon/McCartney track was released instead. Initially, Martin didn’t like “Please Please Me” either. George Martin did not discover The Beatles, Brian Epstein did.

George Martin wanted to be their first single, but they stood their ground and told Martin they didn’t want to release it. Martin knew it would be a hit, but instead they released Love Me Do as their first single. Please Please Me was later

3:24 Technically, "My Bonnie" was NOT their first official (or otherwise) single, because it was a Tony Sheridan single with the guys playing behind him. So technically, you are wrong.
Very enjoyable video, and well-done! Wow - 9:41. "Dot miscarries." Can you imagine...the son of Paul. He'd be like Julian - famous at birth, for better or worse, and absolulely set for life. Not to be. It's James! FABS4EVER!

In fairness to Decca, Paul wore flip flops on his feet in the studio that day, and they told them, "Flip flops are out". Little did Decca know that Brian sold flip flops at the back of his record store, and Liverpool was never the same! Meanwhile, back to Dots for a high heel affair!

I've always hated "Love Me Do". George Martin was right - it's a plodding, banal bit of tripe. "Please, Please Me" is light years better. "From Me To You" is also quite a catchy number. Dunno why the Beatles were so insistent on releasing "Love Me Do" as their first single.

@halwiseman94208 ай бұрын
That rumor is completely false and made up. Stu was beaten up in January 1961 (after their first trip to Hamburg). John and Pete Best came to his rescue and fought off the attackers but Stu refused medical health and the headaches continued until his passing.
