I was an FM radio DJ in Europe when this song was on the charts... and this is the version that I spun on the air. Best part is that I had a buddy getting married whose sister hated his fiance. They just happened into the studio when this song was playing and Sis just jumped on it! LMFAO!!! "Great song! Don't marry her!!!"

My dad and me used to sing this in the car when I was a toddler (I wasn't allowed to say the fuck bit), I was later adopted and i found him when I was 20, we still listened to this song for the four wonderful years that I had him in my life again. Whenever I miss him i put this on and it makes me smile.

In 1999 2000 (I was 5) I'd spend evenings and weekends in the pubs with my mum and shed always select this on the jukebox for me. This always reminds of those days were I was happy and blissfully unaware of her drinking problem that took her in the end. I feel for any of you having to watch your loved ones follow the same path.

The Beautiful South did really well going through 3 female lead singers during their time as a band without ruining their reputation. They probably avoided that due to the songs being so good and having good singers as well. A new lead singer makes or breaks the band.
