All the Saskatchewan Hoppers which were at one time of course government owned have been sold off with the bulk if not all going to a short line called Mobile Grain which is a subsidiary of AGT foods. They purchased half of the old CN Craik Subdivision from Regina north to Davidson Saskatchewan which is half way between Regina and the CN transcon in Saskatoon. They spot cars for loading along the line and also have loading terminals just outside Regina in a siding called Condie and another one in Aylsbury Saskatchewan. Mobile Grain interchanges with CN in Davidson. Mobile Grain also purchased a lot of the old Canadian Wheat Board hoppers as well. Motive power consists of old CN SD40-2W painted for Mobile Grain in Green and White as well as two former CP SD40-2 one rebuilt to -2 standards from as SD45 in the dual flags paint and one in the no multi mark CP Rail paint as well as a coupe of old switchers at Aylsbury which look like GE 45 ton but I’m probably wrong on those two just a guess.

As usual Tony, another top shelf production with amazing drone piloting. Cool to see the Saskabush hoppers again. Any Alberta or Canadian government hoppers around yet? I usually don't pay much attention to boring grain trains unless they are working a mountain grade.
@TonyVRailfanningАй бұрын
@@johnmcgarvie4061 thanks John. Yeah, we see the Alberta hoppers quite often because the battle River Railway purchased most of them.

I did noticed something around the 9:00 mark that I thought was concerning me. It looks like there’s a small sharp dip in the rails that could potentially cause a derailment.
@TonyVRailfanning24 күн бұрын
@@scvtpacn my camera has a very long zoom on it and when you use a Zoom like that, it compresses everything and makes it look much worse than it actually is yes that is what’s called a soft spot and it is a dip, but it’s not as severe as it looks

A lot of these cars are nearing the 50 yr. mark, you may have seen your next fridge or stove roll by, newer cars are bigger and lighter, better to move on than get stuck in the past I guess.
