Every single cut of Ida was like a great painting. The angle, composition, and contrast were all splendid... but most importantly all those cuts were telling about the plot itself. Pure cinema experience.

I love movies like this. Unfortunately so many beautiful films that we don’t even see.

If you do, you need to watch the work of Andrei Tarkovsky, Robert Bresson, Yasujiro Ozu, Kelly Reichardt, Paul Schrader...

The most beautiful Polish movie of the last decades, Pawlikowski is a great talent.

Most of Righteous Among the Nations (people saving Jews) are Poles. Poland was the only country where saving Jews was punishable by death. Thousands of Poles gave their lives for saving their compatriots ... Why aren't films made about it?

I had to see Ida several times because I was so flashed by the images that I could no longer concentrate on the plot 😜 This minimalistic movie is so beautifully photographed. For every cineast or photographer it is surely a great pleasure to watch this movie.
