Makoto Shinkai has done a phenomenal work for the anime industry and cinema in general, He singlehandedly brought a wide array of audience into anime, and people who aren't in anime would still appreciate his work. His work is more than the beautiful imagery he provides its a perfect concoction of everything done just right, Indeed a legend.
