One of my fav things about this boss is that gael is a reflection of your journey throughout all the souls games, an undead defiling the souls to obtain power to help "save the world" so cool that the final boss of the trilogy is a reflection of yourself, at the end of the world, 2 undead, the only beings still standing. 2 pawns for other people's plans, the same way you're a pawn to kingseeker frampt and gwyndolin( using the trilogy timeline, Vendrick, and then awoken in ds3 to preserve the age of fire, gael is first a pawn for gwyn, as a slave in the war against the ancient dragons, then a slave to the painted lady's wishes after this, driven crazy in his pursuit of a completed dark soul. 2 ashen ones, at the end of the world, only one can survive. Truly the perfect way to end one of the best trilogies oat.

The biggest accomplishment of my soulsborne journey is probably when I did 1 try on Gael. It was so satisfying, I was on the edge of my seat the whole fight, and I had never ever been that focused my whole life. Looking back I wish I could do that again, it was almost ultra instinctish

Although Orphan of Kos is my favorite Soulsborne boss of all time, Slave Knight Gael is easily the best DS3 boss. Such a great fight overall

Yeah, Gael and Ringed City as a whole is some of the best content in the series to date. Here's hoping that the Elden Ring DLC has bosses in the same level of quality as Gael or Midir, or even better than them.

Overall I'm satisfied. Bayle is insanely hype with igon, and messmer, dancing lion, and rellana are on par with the likes of Gael.

@@yiphiphourei yeah I found most main bosses better than the main game ones tbf! Most main game ones always had that 1 thing I disliked about them (Margit's poke poke poke attack, Mohg's blood, Waterfowl ofc, Morgott's small health pool, Rykard's spectacle attack and ground attack etc). Here it's so much better goddamn (most of the time). Really my 2 only gripes are: fragments not being the reward for beating bosses (they'd still be encouraging exploration!) and the empty areas especially in the southern part of the map.

@@YoannBB Hard agree. Kinda dissapointed with the emptiness of abyssal woods and the finger ruins. Also, with the many hidden side bosses, could make it so that some of them drop the scadutree fragments, to make it more than exactly 50/50 needed to get to max scadutree blessing level.

@@yiphiphourei I don't think there should be extra fragments since scadutree levels fall off reaaally quickly at level 12 ngl (difference between level 10-12 > difference between levels 13-20 for example). It's basically just like golden seeds except you can spend the leftovers and I loooove that!

He’s very mechanically simple and is carried by the story, music, and animations, he’s like every other DS3 boss roll 2-3 attacks then punish. Sekiro and ER are so far above in terms of mechanical complexity and boss quality even amazing bosses like Geal pale in comparison.
