Wes Anderson is one of my favourite directors. His style is so unique. I remember once watching Grand Budapest on a flight with my brother on his phone. The film was so atmospheric that, despite the fact that I was watching it in a plane on a phone wearing one earphone, I could still feel myself in it.

Hands down one of my favourite films ever, possibly even my favourite. The colour, the atmosphere, the movement and the characters are all so perfectly made and created I love it so much. The Grand Budapest Hotel is so magnificent and magical in an almost dystopia way it is just so amazing.

I was literally on vacation and had to stay at a variety of hotels. Deciding to watch this movie on the first night-in was the best idea ever. It kept me thinking and digging deeply about the hotel systems since the past. Extremely stimulating!

I like the music. It's very Pretty. Even though I haven't seen this particular film that Wes Anderson directed, I saw two of his already. Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Isle of Dogs. My favorite being Isle of Dogs, but The Grand Budapest Hotel looks really good too, and maybe one day I will see it!

Great video as always. This movie makes extensive use of the square shape to make the characters look "locked" in their lives. That's why this movie may feel a little claustrophobic from time to time.

Actually, the 4:3 aspect ratio just represents the time period in which the main adventure takes place... the whole movie is built around nostalgia, and screen reflects that too😁

I wrote mainly about the positioning of objects in the scenes, as well as the walls that create squared shapes, that are often used in movies to place characters into metaphorical "prisons" (I guess nostalgia works too!). The round shape usually evocates security and the pointed one evocates danger. I don't know if it was done for this purpose here, this is just a thought :)
