Sad Kendrick is needed for some people to give other artists a chance and prove Lecrae was always worth a listen. Same with Killer Mike on TPAB. Need Kendrick to do the same to Billy Woods or R.A.P. Ferreira.

I think you missed what the song is actually about. Kendrick is on a soul saving mission to cleanse and save the soul of rap/hip hop. The black forces are a warning that he is seriously…standing on business to watch the party die. He lays out the problems as he sees it with the music and music industry. The “party” is the drilling, killing, drugging, trafficking, abusing, robbing, scamming, and violence, etc. that people like Drake and Diddy allegedly engage in. Kendrick only barely scratched the surface of Drake’s dirty deeds rabbit hole. But this song wasn’t a Drake diss, nor about Kendrick’s personal inner journey. Someone needed to step up because rap/hip hop is currently in the gutter and it’s all I listen to, I admit I’m part of the problem. Fans have to regain control of the boundaries of what’s acceptable within ourselves first before we can clean up anything. You had some great thoughts, I enjoyed watching. ❤

Exactly and here’s another comment that broke it down well “The lyrics express frustration with various societal and cultural issues, particularly focusing on violence, materialism, and superficiality. He advocates for decisive action against people who glorify negativity, like scammers, flashy individuals, and those spreading harmful messages in the media. There's a deep conflict between empathy and the desire for justice, as he contemplates how to deal with these influences, considering both prayer and violence as possible solutions. Throughout the song, there's a strong sense of disillusionment with the current state of the world, where superficial values prevail, he seeks spiritual guidance and peace amidst the chaos. The chorus reflects a plea for clarity, strength, and protection from negative influences, while the verses delve into the harsh reality of eliminating harmful people and ideologies to rebuild a better future.”

@@makingmediamatter PLEASE, you, and EVERYONE, if you haven't already, embrace the One True Only God YHWH Jehovah, Only One Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son and Lord and Savior of our souls and the Only One Holy Spirit. God is good. God is love. Jesus IS coming. Your soul depends on it! I have seen God act in my life. He saved my soul, changed my heart, changed my mind, helped people through me, took care of people in my life, people I hurt before I found God. God is the only reason I was able to reconcile with my dad before he died. God worked through Jesus Christ to save our souls. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. Be baptized in The Holy Spirit, and if He wills, water as well. Repent of your sins, accept God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into your heart, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, that all who believe on Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the Father Jehovah God but through Him. Not long after I got saved I prayed to God for help understanding the Holy Bible, and that same day someone knocked on my door asking me if I wanted to understand the Bible. The Holy Bible says, "love thy enemy", "turn the other cheek", "If your enemy is hungry, feed him", "if he is thirsty, give him a drink", "pray for those who persecute you", "do not repay evil for evil". LORD willing, all humans may commit sin of almost every kind (gay, straight), and that's wrong, and all humans sin, as God tells us through the The Holy Bible, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." The Holy Bible also says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.", "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." and, “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

I have been getting into Kendrick’s music lately through Not Like Us reaction videos. I just watched your dissection of the music video and now I’m here. I just want to say that I’m so impressed with the level of detail and dedication you have to dissecting Kendrick’s work line by line. As someone who has a bachelor’s in English, the way you look at his music through lyrics and context within the greater industry reminds me of the literary analysis I did in college. You’re doing a fantastic job and I can’t wait to see what you put out next, regardless of topic. Subscribing!

I do have one note that I feel like is important for all the non-black folks & non-sneaker heads. You said "Black Air Forces mean you're on demon time & you're ready to scrap with someone." That's maybe something Google will tell you, but nah. Black air forces are basically the work shoe. You don't mind getting them a little fucked up because you still have to have on something while you're at work. You're not going to be out here looking bummy, but you can't put on something too fly because they're going to get really worn with whatever work you're doing. This is not a "I'm gonna murder someone shoe" like I keep seeing people online say. Idk where yal got that, but put it back lol it's just a "time to go to work" shoe. That's it. Not deeper.
@thericepotato58473 ай бұрын
Because "black air force energy" Started getting associated with stuff like big fights in dragon ball, as I understand it. Those were the earliest references I can recall in reference to more violent tendencies, and it kinda stuck that was in circles of media

the terms have evolved because of its usage by younger people in anime community, cause the black anime community and the hip hop community are super close now
@AnimeNXS3 ай бұрын
Bro look up "Know Your Meme". RDCWorld1 are credited with the meaning of "black air force energy" and it signifies dangerous ngas (as she said). Your claim is just sneaker head history, and not what Kendrick was going for. Literally how would a work shoe contextualize itself in any of the meaning of his song? We know it as a PUT in work shoe, not a work shoe. Breaking and entering, drive bys, DEMON TIME sneaks
@AnimeNXS3 ай бұрын
The black anime community originated the term in pop culture but before that in the hood when you discussed black forces we knew what they were on. Demon time. Sheisty, bubble jacket, black forces. The robba n/kill a n starter kit.

Hip hop started as a party to stop the running jokes that the bronx is a hellhole where "civilized" society goes to die. It was a tounge and cheek corny joke by the people living in the struggle, it wasnt until the 90s when real messages and meaning was added in. Then in the late 90s early 2000s the record labels teamed up with the prison industial complex and gangbanging and violence was seen as marketable, and since then rap has been nothing but violence parties and drugs in the top spot leading to many rappers deaths or arrests and their audiences following suit. Let the party die and stop allowing these corporate plants and hollywood demons run the industry.

I absolutely love this breakdown and youre on the right track! Main thing missed is this song is just the beginning of the real wrath Kendrick will show. People and i mean so many people are not looking at this from Kendricks perspective, why? Their family and especially kids weren't dragged on Drake's family matters song which will be on the Internet forever! Kendricks pride is in his family so therefore he will not stop until drake is finished! Lol that is the key thing missed. Also Kendrick refences Drakes party on meet the Graham's as well.

I think some of that is included in just viewing the party as an extension of Drake and those around him. Drake is the ultimate “slop music” artist now, I actually made a video about that a few weeks back, so when Kendrick links that party to Drake I think it’s implied he’s also talking about the state of the music industry as a whole

I see that you appreciate great music so I’m going to put you up on a hidden gem. This man’s style, in Hip Hop has never been duplicated he was the favorite of Pharrell, JDilla, Daft Punk and Kendrick Lamar. You can’t just listen to his music you have to experience it. He’s not as big because most people in Hip Hop lack the ability to do that. You must start at “Rhythm-al-ism” because it’s when he perfected the “Quik” style of music making. He is none other than DJ Quik, from Compton California. He, raps, produces, arranges, mixes and engineers all of his music. He’s the most slept on person in the mainstream. Nobody will appreciate this man until he’s gone. Gen z must experience DJ Quik, like people experience the art of Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd or The Beatles. Hip Hop has never heard anything like Quik, so much that his art transcends the timeline he created in. Hip Hop wasn’t ready for him. But I hope future generations can appreciate him while he’s still here.
