JayveeTV, thank you for reviewing some of the music of my fav band of all time the Bee Gees. As a black person from Manchester UK where the Bee Gees spent many childhood years, I listened to many genres of music. The Bee Gees touched my soul in so many ways beyond words. Forever a fan. I hope you will explore many more of their amazing harmonic productions.... enjoy 😍

Maurice really knocked his five second long highlight out of the park. He really put a lot of emotion into his singing and sang almost a counterpoint to Barry. "How Deep is your Love"... I was 5 when the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack came out. My dad loved the BeeGees during his time in Vietnam, so my family were huge fans. I thought the song was written for me, "...it's me you need Michelle, how deep is your love..." when it was really, "to show how deep is your love..." I listened to that tape, especially the first 4 songs, then I'd hit rewind and start again.... dancing and singing on my parents bed in front of their mirror on the dresser. A corny song you still might like is "Edge of the Universe" off their Main Course album.

Their first US hit was "The New York Mining Disaster" , which had an unusual subject matter and some ambiguous lyrics which helped the rumor at the time, that the label itself kind of encouraged that it was really the Beatles, but after that they were permanent hit makers. And then reinvented themselves during the Disco era and became even bigger. They pretty much defined the sound of an era.

Every decade of the Bee Gees 50 year career contains greatness. Worth checking out. They dabble in rock, disco, country, soul ... Amazing band. My personal favorite from their first album Bee Gee's 1st - I Can't See Nobody

Jayvee, I'd like to suggest the 1974 Melbourne concert for "I Started a Joke" and also another Robin classic called "I Can't See Nobody". Both were fabulous performances by him. Robin actually did most of the late 60's leads. The 1989 Melbourne concert also had, in my opinion, Robin's best rendition of "I Started a Joke". He received about a minute's standing ovation for his performance.

I freakin' love this song. If you want to see/hear an even earlier era, try a song from when they were still kids in Australia called "Wine & Women" from 1965. That's the first record of theirs where they stopped singing corny songs that old people liked and started to really develop their own sound that other kids their age would like.

Oh thanks so much for going through their older music. In my opinion their yellow/gold album, Best of the BeeGees that came out in 1969 was their best. Every song on the album is fabulous. I hope you enjoy your journey through the older years of the Bee Gees, Jay. Have fun. Take care and be well. Peace.

Barry hadn't really developed his falsetto at the time this one came out. You need to hear the remastered version, of "To Love Somebody",or see their live performance .They were the best in my opinion. I scan their youtube stuff and listen almost daily. The song they did after Andy's death called "Wish You Were Here" is so beautiful. It ended up being played for the twins also. Beegees, and their music is such a gift to us.Thanks for appreciating them ,and sharing your thoughts with us.

Jayvee, please do Robin's "I Started a Joke". That was his great voice right at the end of "To Love Somebody". You won't be disappointed. His voice is amazing and never to be duplicated ever again!

There is nothing in the world like sibling harmony! And you are so right - the BeeGees didn't do a bad song :) They even made disco sound fantastic. I love these brothers, their music has been a big part of the soundtrack of my life. I'm really enjoying experiencing the music with you -- thanks for doing what you do!
