I don’t know that it would. Cuts like these are always divisive among everybody. Some really want that impact, and some were just so sucked into the ridiculousness that it works okay, since it’s not quite the Taken 2/3 level of over-edited fights. It’s not every single step or punch that they cut. They do allow a good enough number of moves. Hell, you could look at a fight from Daredevil (yes, Charlie Cox) and say the same thing, when it’s not the one-take fights simply because you loved the one-take fights so much. I feel like sticking with Ulee’s Gold instead, but Ayers has directed things like End of Watch in the past (quietly excellent) and w/ the cast assembled, The Beekeeper could be a sleeper action flick, too.

About the scam itself and how realistic it was. Sometimes I don't understand why it's old people who are portrayed as being so trusting. It's not your grandchild on the phone, it's not your neighbor. Why would they say "oh you have such a trusting voice" vibes? Were they easily scammed at a younger age? The generation that built America, lived through Nixon, Vietnam, iran Contra and all that jazz?

Convinced this movie was made because of the Rick & Morty scene where the teenage girl crushes over Jerry because he keeps bees

An action packed Saturday matinee, but I enjoyed it all the same.

If a movie is going to be objectively bad from a critics standpoint then it needs to be silly and be overloaded with charm and this movie is absolutely both of those things
