I’m sorry, do you think Home Alone was some sort of cinematic masterpiece?😂🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s just their sense of humor because it gets brought up all.the.time, but, it WOULD be perfectly understandable if she didn’t know. I doubt that you have any idea how much of a radically different pop culture experience that someone who is maybe 30+ now, has with someone who wasn’t even BORN until 2002, 12 years after that film premiered. We only think of it as iconic because we grew up with that movie and were alive when it actually came out, and witnessed MC becoming a massive child star. She’s TWENTY ONE. She was not apart of ANY of that.

Nah, that’s one of Winona’s most iconic characters. I think you’re forgetting how HUGE of a star she was, for a long time. Still is, but she ofc disappeared there for a while. It was still heavily watched when I was in high school, nearly two decades later, and was definitely a formative film for a LOT of us, and informed a lot of future tastes and interests in that type of dark humor. I hear it referenced quite often as an influential film for a lot of younger stars too; it’s very much still a part of the cultural lexicon.
