This is truly great. And what is also admirable beyond the fact that you are feeding the needy, is the fact that you didn't film their reactions. That's very respectable!! It shows that you are giving with the right intent, and not just for views although that may be an added bonus. Good job!

Being from Denver, I had no clue on how serious the homelessness is here in my home city. Thank you for sharing those interesting facts as well, I had no idea! You guys are incredibly giving and just all around great people who are doing great things. Thank you for spending your time here in Denver and giving so much back. Even if it's just a couple sandwiches. And about the crappy weather, it usually isn't like this ! At-least not for weeks lol Denver has the best weather. Save travels:) Please keep doing what your doing.

You guys rock. I grew up in Denver and live in Seattle for many years now. Wish you made it here. I would double down on the donations and would help make the sammies. Homelessness is horrible here for the same reasons as Denver. $2600 month for a two bedroom minimum. God bless you both. Keep doin what you're doin. Awesome!!!

This is amazing. I went to NYC one winter to see the Christmas lights and we ate at an Italian restaurant that was family style so we had a lot of leftovers so we found a homeless man to give our leftovers to...I can't begin to explain how gratifying that was, the happiness and appreciation he showed was well worth it. To this day it humbles me and keeps really grounded and remembering how lucky I am. This is truly awesome and there should be more people out there like you ! I just wanted to say thank you

I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity I was homeless twice with my children... when they were 10 and 12 it was really hard to explain to them why that was happening literally my husband decided he wanted to divorce and kicked me and the kids out.. we live in Michigan so it gets cold here pretty fast we lived in the friends pop up camper with a lot of sleeping bags.. I was able to get a low income apartment in a month because they put us to the top of the list because we were homeless but.. people do not realize the shame and stress and the utter loss and depression you feel from that.. anyways this video made me cry but in a good way so thank you...

I just saw your video and am in awe of you both and your genuine compassion. We did a homeless blanket and coat drive many years ago when my children were little. They came with us as we passed them out (it was the coldest day of the year back then, and 2 days before Christmas Eve). The people we met were so kind, and grateful. I remember one man hobbling up to our van, he had to be at least 70+, am I too late to get a coat? I about cried on the spot as I reached in and gave him a blanket and a coat. It was a humbling experience and I'm so glad my children were there. You both are true "Earth Angels". PS Count me in on the next food drive and where can I buy my bracelets? :-)

Gypsy Jasmyne I don't know what's happened to you, but with my living in a camper van has stored many problems with homeless. you see we're considered homeless too by the government and them. those homeless without a car are SUPER jealous and angry at us. we are total shit to them. and we are a prey rather than those with an apt or house. its not cool how many times I've been yelled at and over hearing people talking to rob me and/or steal my van. plus I've witnessed many people with a car and possible home to car jack me and looking through my windows.... it never ends. homeless begging to sleep in my van with me!!! fucking kidding me??? you have to make up lies constantly with them. give a fake name. your auto needs 1000's to repair etc... just loads of bull shit. you're flat broke. to make it more believable ask about panning because you need to. it was my rules to NEVER associate with homeless. but I eventually had to. and its dangerous. I avoid as best I can by all means now for sure. I feed many when I grill out... be it they're around during cooking time or I'll run into one I know leaving... sometimes will drop off at a certain place I no where even close stay but even that has caused trouble. now every time several men see me they dash over and 2 are wanted by police and are thieves and drug addicts. so I stopped giving over there. there's a lot to be careful of and Walmart is the worst place to stay.
@neeneec5394
@neeneec5394 7 жыл бұрын
the city and main place I sleep... everyone knows me who works here including the police. I'm liked here. there are a small handful who stealth here. and they kick out trouble makers or simply those in woods... here long enough and bad image etc. Walmart is a target on your back. I've dealt with so much shit at Walmart and numerous locations I just hate it there I've been harassed very many times by those not homeless and just fucking with me. I threatened 3 at once one night who were together... I threatened them and I scared them so bad they wrecked their car 3 times fleeing from me. a brand new car!!! I called police to inform them and they said if they come back then they'll send cars to arrest. so I get bull shit from homeless and people with homes. and here I just mind my own business, I don't use drugs or pot... I come from an upper class family and I wear nice clothes beside t-shirts often... I use to be semi famous and attracted to by both sexes... when you drive what I do although is a very nice camper... you get attacked and discrimination from it. its nuts.
@neeneec5394
@neeneec5394 7 жыл бұрын
PS its also so weird giving a fake name all the time... only a few know my real name, and no its not doris . that's my phones name. when I know its cool people I have to pause for a second to remember my real name. I travel too. but in town to homeless and many others I give my fake unless I'm certain or don't care. I'm still not use to it. yesterday one of my friends I made who travels nonstop was in town. I kept hearing my fake name called outside my windows... I was like oh... that's for me. made me nervous for a second. even my real friends out here that left town but while here call me fake name to respect me. never give your real name. I learned a lesson last city.

Doris C actually my cautioning has nothing to do with living in a van... It has everything to do with the authorities not being terribly fond of a group effort to feed a group of homeless... For I was part of an initiative to feed homeless during a pride event and we were warned not to do that because they did not want the homeless anywhere near the area... So my fear is not necessarily for these wonderful folks being bombarded with homeless people causing problems but the authorities coming after them for doing so... It is an F up world we live in! Sadly

I want to make it clear that I support their efforts in feeding those down in their luck. Not all homeless are evil I myself was down on my luck and a wonderful program came along to help me and I was allowed to Boondock in their property... I also Pay It Forward by giving someone else a hand up time and time again! I would never stop doing this nor encouraging anyone else from doing so... I would however caution people to be careful just like you are being careful by using an alias.

I live in a town where we have a lot of homeless people as well. I think it is because they know they can get support here... Other than that, in general, people in more permanent homeless status are homeless because they have a mental illness, drug use, a combo of both AND do not have the appropriate support to care for their problems. Some homeless are in transition or are homeless temporarily (because they lost a job, got a divorce, etc) and will get back on their feet! Housing is an issue, and to survive in a high cost of rent world, you need to have room-mates. For that, to live with others, a person needs mental stability, and if they have a drug problem, it makes it difficult to find room-mates. And they would need a job to pay bills, for small as bills would be on a shared space. You see? There is a lot always going back to mental illness, drug use AND lack of support. Support should come from the ones who could afford to provide the support - some should be about building their capacity to independent living, treatment for their illnesses if that is the case (mental illness and addiction), others should be about just knowing some people will always depend on others, it is just what it is, it is part of living in a village, of being human. If everyone who can afford to provide support did what you did, and you can't quite afford it... imagine what we would have. Thank you for bringing this cause to the forefront. Maybe you can collect data from them, so everyone knows about their stories, challenges, dreams (no names needed, just the data). It is like... to prevent prejudice, we need to walk on somebody else's shoes... Is that an expression? You know what I mean. :-)

So much modesty in your action. You can look at your self in a mirror with pride. And let the troll who hides behind glasses and mustache swim in their own stupidity. In France, we call them "pisse vinaigre" for a good reason. Love you both. Peace.

Good job guys! Have you try to partner up with a grocery store to have free produce? I bet a big company would love to endorse you!!!

maelleforever I've already mentioned it before weeks ago. most grocery stores donate once a month to each charity group. I'm not sure of the procedure but I use to do a lot of charity work for mostly aids/HIV fundraising and meals were charged for what was given for free from stores to make money for charity. all you have to do is ask the manager. I know numerous times activist friends just walked in and said their cause and 20 minutes later out with food. we were legit. other times a rep from charity did it and I volunteered to help prep and serve food. I do know now in days grocery stores are more inclined to give to second harvest now. but worth the try to ask at least
