As for 40 feeter performance cruisers, I would go for Azuree 41. Great design by Humphreys. great build quality, competitive pricing.

I got to take a close look at one of these in Annapolis and I was underwhelmed. It didn't feel like a nice place to be. It was as though it was meant to be comfortable, but it just wasn't. I might feel different after sailing one, but it didn't speak to me.

Boats have gotten lighter and now we are seeing more planning style hulls (flatter bottoms and wider beams) Rigs, like on this boat using carbon fiber significantly reduces weight aloft, allowing for improved performance. Sails have gotten lighter and more efficient shapes.

A very clean and sleek looking exterior, which matches the enterior.. Very Nice.. The two cabin, one bigger head design on a boat this size I personally always prefer.. Sure it good for more than two weeks at a time by a couple..

The difference in price can be accounted for by cost of labour in Denmark vs. Slovenia and also "build quality". The latter will become more important in twenty years or more, and you may not want to pay the difference for something that may not matter to you.

just looked at the new Moody 41 foot DS .. on show at Dusseldorf Boot ...lovely intereior... The Deck saloon to me seems the way to go ... feels a bit like a cat.

I've been on a few sailboats and this model seems extremely uncomfortable. I can appreciate the design details for sailing but having guests on there seems anything but inviting

It's more of a cruiser cruiser-racer, looks like the Ritz compared to the cruiser racer I've lived in. Sometimes I wonder how some sailboats can fit so much luxury for a similar price.

If dark mahagony that makes the boat feel like a dark cave is your thing that is nice, but i guess there are quite a lot of people who enjoy not feeling depressed after an hour sitting inside.

@@TrolloTV We own a Beneteau 393. Not one person has not LOVED the interior. And even our friends prefer it to their new Jeanneau interior. We considered a Jeanneau 379, but not only was the interior cheap and cold, it also didn't have a bunk big enough for a taller person. These new boats have "boat show" interiors designed for homeowners rather than sailors. Our next boat will likely be one of these newer designs because we like the twin wheels and cockpits, but the interiors are lousy.

@@Shinkajo LOL...we sail with racers and cruisers. The new interiors are tough to love. Sharp corners for cruisers and not enough hand-holds. The cockpits are great, which is why we'll probably end up with one of the big Jeanneau's in a year or two. But most people find the interior of the older boats warmer and certainly better in a seaway. Have a look at the videos of us sailing, plus the interior. Oh, and I wear proper deck shoes. Sandals while sailing are amateur hour. ;-)

It is quite rude actually to compare this interior with an IKEA ad. I own a real Scandanavian yacht with the teak and stuff, but after 10+ years I would rather have an open, light oak interior for change. It is everybody's own opinion, but please don't compare an X-yachts interior with IKEA. I could say a lot of things about Beneteau's as well. I totally agree with the sandals and missing handrails on the ceiling though. Having sailed rough waters/weather multiple times, handrails on the ceiling is a must have for serious sailers.
