honestly, people like loni are one of the reasons it's so hard to feel proud to be a virgin. she was making all those unnecessary comments while jeannie was trying to explain why it was good to abstain from sex before marriage. like, okay we get it, you LOVE sex, but respect jeannie and tamara's decision to abstain from sex before marriage. she was being so rude, trying to make them feel ridiculous for being a virgin (according to tamera) or celibate (in jeannie's case). idk, maybe it's just me, but i was like "loni, calm down, no one is trying to make you feel bad about how much sex you have, so stop trying to make them feel bad"

I love this topic. And I very much so agree with Tamera and Jeannie but that's not new. I feel like waiting before marriage is always best. I really don't believe in this "testing the car before you buy it" stigma that society has told us is okay. One of the reasons people are cheating in their marriages is because they're thinking about their previous lovers and had good they gave it to them. More problems arise when you don't wait. Sex is the deepest connection you can have with another person. And when you're just doing it with anybody, you diminsh the value of it. Waiting is best.

It's more the value you place on it than waiting for a specific milestone IMO. Plus if you are doing everything but intercourse (oral, etc) then to me you are still having sex.

This is my FAVORITE segment! Thank you so much Tamara and Jeannie! It's so sad these days how I often have to try to explain exactly what you both just said to others when I get questioned as to why wait. I will show this to any female (or male) who can't seem to get it. A relationship is just that, a RELATIONSHIP--communication, bonding, understanding, growing together etc. Sex is icing on the cake as Tamara said. I'd rather know what kind of cake I'm eating and the ingredients before just eating the delicious icing and finding out that it was just cardboard under it.

But I agree like we get it you have a lot of sex, in the conversation to the girls waiting of sex I respect it because there is more to life then just sex lol In actuality it's really probably not that big of a deal and not that hard to comprehend.
@ilovepeaches4009 жыл бұрын
+mary petrosino but one of the reasons why there is that double standard is bc a lot of woman lack knowing there worth therefore do not have standards. therefore a man could have a sex with mannnnnyyyyyyyyyyyy women and than marry a girl that only has one body bc we settle. men don't want women who have sex with many men but woman who have less than three or none will be ok with a man that had many. therefore , what is a man loosing by him having sex w a bunch of females. nothing. bc he will still get the good girl at the end.

I'm 15 and I a hundred percent believe in waiting till marriage. It's the only way you can really get to know your spouse. How they deal in certain situations, who they are etc instead of just having the thought of how good he does it in the bed. Most times people fall in love with the sex and mistake it for falling in love with the person. It's an important connection between two people and that one person who truly knows you and loves you for who you are should be the only one who gets the privilege of sharing that important moment with you
@4daluvofnikki10 жыл бұрын
Ashley Kay please keep those beliefs indeed. It warms my heart to hear you say such things at such a young age. Don't let any boy pressure you into doing that before he claims you completely as his own. Wait for Marriage. I really don't think you will regret it despite what people will tell you. God Bless.

if you want to wait til you're married then that's your choice, but then again a lot of people aren't sexually compatible and that often leads to divorce (if you're waiting til you're married). i feel like the people who wait are usually people who don't really believe in divorce so might aswell test drive the car before buying it because you don't want to take it back to the shop do you?

Its kind of amazing sometimes. I would tell guys that I didn't want sex and they would ask why in a kind of annoyed way. They would try to change my mind in the matter to see if I caved but I never did. I now have found a guy that I told him I didn't want to have sex and he told me that he wants something real not something just based on lust. Its hard but don't let anyone change your mind in that whether its having sex or not having sex do what you believe in.
@dbzfan2002709 жыл бұрын
+Chessissi That's great you found a guy who supports you. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to be single forever, but I'm not caving in. Have dated a guy before who also tried to change my mind and the asking in an annoyed way, but already sensed it wasn't meant to be before then, so it wasn't a big thing that it didn't work out. Know there must be a guy out there who will respect that with me too, but it is difficult to remain hopeful sometimes when society says that a man won't wait, or will cheat, and the idea that oral and anal sex isn't sex. It's in the name, sex is sex and I'm waiting until marriage. Trying to convince me that oral/etc isn't sex is a darn lie. It does bother me when people think that it isn't sex only because it's not the traditional method of intercourse. Long story short, glad you found the guy for you. I hope to be blessed one day as well.

In my early 20's, I'm proud & not ashamed of being celibate & i take pride in being selective of who i share my body with.

Not being racist or anything because I'm black myself, but I feel like white guys respect celibacy more than black men. I've experienced it myself & perhaps why Jeanie and Tamera fell in love with their spouses.
@prettienini10 жыл бұрын
I can understand why u would say that but it isn't true. My husband would have respected it if I chose to wait. Which I tried and he was going to oblige but I said forget it lmao. But he was willing to wait because he had waited a long time for sex before we met. He lost his virginity at 26

You just haven't found the right black man yet lol I think there a men regardless of race who think sex is incredibly important in a relationship, while some value companionship. Just a matter of the man himself
@2write2sing2dance10 жыл бұрын
It is NOTHING to do with their ethnicity, rather, its the man himself. Some guys appreciate a woman who hasn't had a lot of partners, and some guys don't care. You can only disclose what you're comfortable with and expect him to respect your needs. Don't presume about anybody.

Elizabeth Taylor, I have to disagree with what you said. I believe, just like KING090589 said, you haven't found the right black man. And I have to add, you surely haven't met every man of every race so your statement would therefore be false. IDK I just hate when I see people negatively generalize their own race. I'm sure if a black man said the same thing about black women all hell would break loose.

I think abstinence or celibacy in today's society enables individuals to identify someone compatible and worth waiting for, therefore, you can weed out imposters. If they won't wait for you, like you will wait for them, then you're not compatible. Also, "let's wait a while"- Janet Jackson

I'm 19 and a very proud virgin. Most people are complaining how they have kids and that their life ended or weren't financially stable or this or that, well should of kept your legs closed until you were really ready to settle down and able to support yourself abd your child. And some people who have sex to much with different people that end up with HIV/AIDS, shouldn't be be complaining because that's the decision you chose to make with your life so don't be complaining when you actually get HIV or Aids.

I feel the same way! I wasn't looking for hookups to to get my first kiss and my first time over with, I wanted to wait to share those moments with someone I had strong feelings for. So I didn't have my first kiss or do it for the first time until I was 18. I have no regrets. I'm 20 now and I do have some friends who are a bit disheartened that they haven't had a boyfriend of even their first kiss and I tell them there is absolutely nothing wrong with that because once you find a man who you really like, it's more special to share these memories with them. It's worth the wait!!!

I agree with Tamara and Jeannie for the most part. I think society as a whole lost sight of those values, because everything is overly sexualized now days. Big up to Tamara and Jeannie! People seem not to understand that it is harder to stop sex for a time once you have already tasted it, compared to a virgin who never did it. I'm sex free for 2 years and 4 months, because I decided to be sort of "clean'' before I get to meet my missing 12th rib, and it is not easy. Opportunities are much more and temptations so many compared to back then, especially once they find out you don't want sex before you get married.

Ok...so this is for my fellow Christians out here. *Sometimes I agree with what Tamera is saying but sometimes I feel like the things that she says don't agree with God's word*. For example, I think Tamera has talked about "foreplay" before marriage and here in this clip Jeannie seemed to mention something about foreplay and Tamera responded "I agree with you 100%".....Galatians 5:18-21 says: "19 *When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures*, 20idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God." Things like foreplay and *ANY SEXUAL ACTIVITY* outside of marriage is a sin. God is not foolish. He will not tell you "Pre-marital sex is a sin, but it's ok to do everything else as long as you're not having intercourse". Absolutely not. Galatians 5:24-25 says: 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let no one misunderstand my intentions. I'm not here to condemn anyone- everyone has free will. But I am here to stand up and support the *TRUTH* in God's word and to help others see the seed of deceit the devil is trying to plant in people's minds and heart. Dear reader, do not let the devil think that there are exceptions to sin. Sin is sin. There are no exceptions! It's your choice.

Young girls who are watching. Please don't be afraid to stay a virgin or to stop having sex with a man. If you don't want to do it, don't do it. When its all over, you will not feel good (if you were not ready). Know that there are millions of girls around the world who are willing to wait and thats okay. If you can't wait and think you are ready, just know the consequences (unexpected pregnancies) and take what ever step you want. Until you feel ready and responsible, then do it.

At 41 years of age, it seems like the chances of me ever finding that girl I will fall in love with are almost non-existent. I believe I am more uglier than most guys plus over recent years I've experience more chronic social isolation. Meaning my social isolation is hindering my social skills. This has further worsened my mental illness. I am hoping in my campaign to train and compete in world cup downhill ski racing in my 40s that I can help raise awareness on mental illness and other factors impairing social interaction and maybe along in my journey meet that woman. For now, I honestly give myself a better chance at a podium finish in the 2022 Winter Olympic games in the sport of alpine downhill ski racing. That is the truth!

Patience is so important because it determines your strength as a couple especially when you're tested with so many challenges in life.

I agree I think once you've dated long enough to see potential in the relationship it should be important to try make a point to not have sex. By making that point to set that foundation by building that bond on something other than sex. I don't know about waiting for marriage cause all individuals are different and not everyone is looking for marriage but to abstain for as long as possible and to have your significant other respect that is lovely. When you're looking for a long lasting relationship (since a lot of people enjoy causal sex) sex should be had when both consenting individuals are comfortable and have no doubts about the decisions. I say this because to set that goal of waiting til marriage is amazing but a lot of people don't always wait and it that make me them feel like they failed. So the goal should be to do it with someone you loves you, is committed and respected your decision to not do it until you were ready.
@vanessasaucedo878 жыл бұрын
Totally! That was me and my husband, that's how we knew we wanted to marry each other because we dated without the expectations of sex and we entertained each other in other ways... and got to know each other and be intimate with eachother in other ways before deciding we wanted to spend forever together...
