Yeah, but that's life. What broke my heart at the ending of this episode, is seeing Vanessa depressed, because she misses her mother so much. Just to think to have that type of pressure as the oldest to watch out for your brother and sister, because your mother is on drugs. Life is a trip!

When he took the kids to see her in rehab and she wasn't there he didn't have any words to say as he felt so bad for what he kids went through with her so he took them in and he was strict because he wanted them to grow and learn from mistakes and put them on a good path in the future Bernie was hard on Vanessa because he didn't want her to become like Stacy had been and he was determined to keep it from happening, A missed opportunity to have Stacey appear physically on the show. I think offscreen Stacy never overcame her addictions so her children stayed with Bernie and Wanda

I couldn't wait to get to work everyday. He had a heart of gold, was hardworking and was a generous man. He would talk to anyone who was cool with him. He treated everyone with respect. Everyone on the show realized this and how special our time with him was.
