Well 103 is pretty bad. Mine never got over 90. Make sure it's not on a soft surface like fabric. Try to use it in an area where the ambient temps aren't too high.

I was thinking about getting one of these for school but i would like for it to last long enough to record a lecture or 2 and maybe do some work in the library. Does it not have a low power mode that only runs graphics on the 4800H or was that the mode you got 4 hours out of? Just wanted to get one that could handle some fighting games when i am away from home or between classes if i have no work to do.

Yeah I used the low power mode which uses the integrated graphics and around 40% screen brightness. It can get up to 5 hours. This has a 60w battery there's also a version with an 80w battery, but you lose the 2.5" drive bay with the bigger battery. I have a better laptop now that has a 99w battery and it can go up to 8 hours with low power. This depends on if you care more about gaming, or CPU intensive programs. This laptop will still do both great...and so will the ASUS. You probably wouldn't notice any real difference in the CPU intensive programs either, but the 5800h will benchmark higher. I haven't used the ASUS laptop, but I do have a 3060 laptop you can check out the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZa7dmSpbax2q6M And there's also a game benchmark video for it. So, for me it would mostly come down to price, as they will both be great. Although also consider that if you stream the RTX cards are great for being able to use Nvidia Broadcast.

Thanks! The CPU gets pretty toasty, but it hasn't "overheated". Gets close to 90c. I haven't seen it thermal throttle or shut down or anything. A cooling pad would be a great idea. I'm using one now... More for the stand features than for cooling, but temps are down a bit. I might try reapplying thermal paste in the future. Oh and the GPU always stays pretty cool. Never seen it get to 70c

Use Hydro Mode and you can get your temps off the GPU1 as the CPU plus saves on battery if you ever just wanna browse around on battery or do updates before you leave off with it. I have the same laptop except it's the 2060 model I got for $1030 and bought a 2TB SSD to put on the bay. I'm satisfied for the value it offers vs competitors specially for the noise and thermals.

And mobas..you should be able to play a full match of League of Legends on battery, or something like an hour of Overwatch...the easy games.

I would rather have the ryzen 7 4800h. It's much more powerful. But the rtx 2060 is slightly more powerful than the 1660ti. So it just depends if gaming is the only thing you want to do

Why there is no CPU degrees on screen shown in some kind of program. I have to believe you that it was 77 on one game and 80 on second game. Then you say on closing thoughts that its HIGH 80 so its 89 or what? I am thinking between ryzen 7 4800H and intel core i7- 10750H and temps are very important for me! Temps are from HWinfo64. Afterburner won't show the temp on that CPU for some reason. Mine has never went over 89°.

Depends how much you want to spend. The 3060 model will most definitely cost more. I would check reviews and see if the performance gain is worth the extra money to you. As far as waiting it may be like another month so not too long

Maybe a little bit. But, they usually clear the stock the same time new ones drop. Unless you go for a used one. This one might go down to like $850 though if they still have stock.
