I sure wouldn't volunteer to stand in front of a .25. And a .25 that you have with you is better than the .45 you left at home because it was too big to carry. Thanks for watching.

Once again, thank you for watching and commenting. I'm not happy with a 50% hit rate at 50 yards on a plate that big, but I guess I shouldn't complain. If I had more .25acp ammo I would have taken more time to work with it. But considering the intended application for the gun.......

If .25 ACP pistols are derided as under-powered mouse guns, then why is it one cannot find any used .25 ACP pistols in gun stores? Your best bet is to check gun conventions. Yet, even .25 ACP pistol owners don't disagree the .25 ACP is underpowered, essentially a center-fire .22 LR. The reason is that the .25 ACP pocket pistol is still regarded as a useful, last-ditch, emergency personal protection firearm. It supports the old adage, the best gun in the world is the one on you when you most urgently need it. As one old-timer put it, I'd rather rely on my .25 ACP than on harsh language.

We have begun carrying a Jetfire as our EDC...we're seniors, and the gun is smaller, lighter, and still decent capacity compared to the .38 we used to carry...too many folks hung up on blowing up the bad guy when inducing the bad guy to stop acting bad is plenty...any gun always beats no gun, and that includes a .25acp...

Well the GT70 is a gun you just can’t go wrong with. It’s simple, solid, small, and it never seems to fail. Trigger wears in great, good ergonomics, trigger block safety…i read somewhere years ago that it’s design traces back to good ol John Browning (besides the cartridge) so that explains a lot. Tanfoglio, Excam, FIE, Brna, even the $60 today zinc framed ones seem to do fine without blowing to bits. I never leave the house without it, but it does stay home on my trips to the range. Not that it’s not that inaccurate tho, fixed barrel is nice. Good shit for $75 then, good shit for $75 now.

First, thanks for watching and commenting. I've replied many times to similar comments that if you only practice and train to the "statistical average" distance, you won't have the confidence and competence if/when things go sour at greater distances. But if you reach out to the limits of your pistol - and beyond - you will be better prepared for more encounters.

Many good and bad people are on boot hill as a result of the .25 caliber pistols. Heard horror stories of failures to stop and also of one shot stops too, it beats no gun, I call them DEADLY JEWELRY. I surely do not want anyone shooting at me with one, course don't want anyone shooting at me with a CO2 pellet gun either. Far more reliable than a pocket .22 RF of the same size and about equal in power. The 7.65 Browning (.32ACP) is a magnum compared to the .25 or .22LR pocket pistols. Interesting submission.

Notes: Those sights on this pistol are the same as most modern sights - except for being likely smaller. What is of note is the shooter hit that which was intended. He lined up the sights and made hits at up to twenty-five yards. (If those hits would have been effective is a different discussion, the sights are correctly positioned.) The demonstrator correctly mentioned this design was originally the Astra Cub. The best quality it has is to be very small. It is light and easy to hide. The small size makes it difficult to shoot well. Sights are correctly positioned, as mentioned, but hard to use in a hurry. The cartridge is horribly under powered.

I own several. The Colt is my favorite and they can be had for as low as $400 (even on GunBroker). Especially if you're willing to buy one that was produced in Spain instead of Connecticut. The Raven was mentioned elsewhere and that is a viable cheap option. Not nearly as desirable as the Colt, mind you, but it will still go bang. And you can find them in Pawn Shops for about $100 with decent consistency. GunBroker would be a little more expensive but certainly less than $200. The Baby Browning of the various clones of it (Bauer and Fraser) are also available and fun. But you'll consistently find them for about $500. I prefer the Colt, but if you find a genuine Browning they're a fascinating piece of history. Beretta has a number of guns including the James Bond gun (Beretta 418) or something newer like the 950BS Jetfire. I haven't priced these but they're likely to be at least $500 just from name brand recognition. There are a bunch of cheap options you can consider. Guns from Astra or things like the FIE Titan are probably cheaper and will likely still function fine. I would avoid anything from the Ring of Fire other than the Raven. So anything from Jennings, Bryco, Jimenez or any of the other from the Jennings family are generally unsafe and I'd avoid.

What about the Browning Baby? The Bauer is just a cheap copy and personally I would pass on the Astra for heaven's sake. Nothing to say about the Colt? A review crap 25cals imo, nothing here I would consider

@Smith, thank you for watching and commenting. I didn't do the video to suggest anyone should rush out and buy "The Best" brand pistol, or even that it was actually the best .25acp pistol. The purpose of the video was to show a pistol that has been neglected by most gun reviewers.

@@RidersRange would love to see your review of the Beretta 25 ACP pistol and the Colt 25 ACP... believe I saw them in gun stores when all the other pistols in this caliber had gone away .... notwithstanding the efforts of the Gun Control Act to eliminate virtually all these small, highly concealable pistols, and the lack of data points on how effective 25 ACP was/was not, in stopping the threats .. it is perhaps that it was effective enough in its' era ... all we really know about 25 ACP is that it was very popular at one time in history, and now not so much .. but the reasons escape modern discussion of firearms .. and interest has of course shifted .... I'll bet there are still quite a few 25 ACP firearms sitting in sewing boxes, kitchen drawers, tool boxes, etc doing "due dilligence" work for their owners .... an interesting topic.

The best 25acp is a rock, but not a big one

I don't know about you, but I'd rather be hit with a rock that someone threw than by a .25acp bullet fired from any pistol. It almost beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Thanks for watching.
