AJ planes are incredible. Never any coupling in knife edges. Super straight builds.

I fly mine with a 6s 2700. It balances it awesome where you can still reach it and you can get 7-8 minutes of Ripping! I love this plane and bring it to the field almost every time. It just the right size that I can slide it back behind my seat in my truck and still fit a crack yak and all my wing bags for 60& 67” planes.

Awesome! I could see a slightly larger battery helping with the CG, but mine is pretty light and I like that. I found a solution as I mentioned in the video to easily get my battery in the nose to help with that issue. Is yours still floaty even with the bigger battery, and what motor are you using? Also what 60 and 67inch planes do you have, I am looking to jump into that size class before long.

@ Hey buddy. I have the T-motor AM480 and their 70 amp ESC in my AJ Slick. It flies awesome, I don’t know how floaty it is compared to yours, but no problems with wing dropping or anything like that, and flies amazing for its small size and doesn’t feel heavy at all. I have all the 67’ Extreme Flight planes (including the new pink NG) plus the Raven. They’re all super fun. If I had to pick one it might be the Edge 540. It’s so stable and easy to throw around and is just “locked in”. Second would be the Raven, it’s incredibly floaty and fun. I’ve also had the Pilot RC 67” NG. Skip that and get the Extreme Flight NG instead, It was a wing dropper in high speed stalls. I just got that new Pink NG and only have 3 flights logged. It immediately felt comfortable and familiar, great plane! It might be the closest one to the Slick.

@@tommcallister5835 with the tmotor 480 it looks in pictures like it's alot shorter of a motor. Did you have any problems with getting the prop to stick outside the cowl? I'm new to all ghis

@aaronmitchell1036 No I didn’t have any issues, I used 4; 1/4 inch spacers to bolt the motor on and that was perfect. The T-motor has a back plate that extends the motor, so you wouldn’t have any issues. If you were to run the 480 in the 51 inch slick I would recommend the 650kv motor paired with a 6s battery, that would be a perfect setup.

Good job on the video I've flown Aj Aircraft from the very first one they made. Andrew Jesky designs some of the straightest flying ARF's I have ever flown, Best of luck with your YT channel.

The accuracy of their aircraft is apparent during knife edge, where almost no coupling is present!

I have the 51, 61 and 103, all in the 10th anniversary scheme. Just upgraded the tails on the 103 last fall, I am sure it will be as good as I imagine it shall. I wish there was a 67" as my personal limit on electrics is a 6 cell. My 51 is a 6cell 2200 setup, AJ motor, 61 is 6 cell 4000ish and the 103 is a DA120. Have enjoyed the hundreds of hours I have on these planes over many years, typical for me to fly at least one each week although sometimes I declare it AJ Slick day and fly all 3.

AJ slick day at the field sounds awesome! I agree with you that a 67inch would be a sweet addition to their lineup.

Nice Video ! From my personal experience I'd take out the bluebird servos and switch to savox I've had a couple bluebirds go out on me and cost me an airframe.
@4BrothersRCАй бұрын
Hmm, worth considering. Servos are a funny thing, one person will love a brand of servos and others will have a bad experience and find some other brand that proves more reliable "for them." I will definitely keep using these for now, but I will keep my eye on them.

Never had an issue with blue birds. They have been around for ages. Before savox was even an after thought. Heck at one time all you would see is bluebird servos at the flying feild in the early 2000s. I have a set in my OMP hobby edge 540.

How is the battery tray working out for you? Are you able to share the STL file for it? I am building an AJ Slick 51 and I definitely see the benefit of using a battery tray to get the battery far forward but still have it secured properly.

I got your e-mail, and will be sending the thingiverse link within the next few days.

what flight time do you get with the 6s 1800mah?
@4BrothersRC26 күн бұрын
About 6 minutes doing mostly aggressive flying, landing at about 20% battery remaining, but if you cruise you could definitely get 7 minutes.
