I have all three cutters, and gave the go me to a friend, nice to share the fun. I have purchased several strip cutters, a few bobs and is dies. I love them and only use them for my quilts.

Thank you Emily! You did an excellent job explaining the AccuQuilt & the cubes in this video, well done. My husband has wanted to get me an AccuQuilt cutter for a year now & I have put it off because as a newer quilter I didn’t want another machine/technique to learn. I was also overwhelmed with what die to begin with. However, the current quilt I have been working on has a ton of pieces (all HST) but as you know they are time consuming especially when my bulk cutting is off or I don’t exactly sew straight which adds another step in squaring up not only my pieces but blocks too. So, I am going to my quilt store & purchasing the Go Big tomorrow. I will refer to more of your videos & your blog for more tips. Happy holidays!

Wow. Thank you. I finally have an idea of the different dies available. I bought a Go and have the 8 inch cube. I purchased a 2 1/2 strip and the log cabin die. I have been afraid to purchase anymore due to confusion and afraid of spending money on duplicates. I would mention that I am older and sometimes have trouble understanding what you say. It is easier when you speak at your slower rate.

I’m so glad you found it helpful! I’ll try to keep speaking more clearly in mind for my future videos, in the meantime I do believe many of the videos have auto-generated captions if you turn them on ☺️ (click the CC button to turn on captions)

Great tips! The AccQuilt has been on my wish list for quite awhile now... hopefully, soon. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for all your advice. I love EPP and like the idea of using dies to cut the fabric up for me.

I love using AccuQuilt for my EPP! Especially because the pieces are often weird shapes

Thanks for sharing this information on the benefits of getting a Qube. I'm curious why the shapes are tilted on the die cutters? Doesn't that make the cut slightly off from the grain of the of the fabric?
@HomemadeEmilyJane3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon! Great question! You’ll want to line your fabric grain up with the blade itself, rather than the die. The blades are at a slant so it feeds through the machine easier. You can learn more about it on this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGbNZ5hslq6tn6s

Great video Emily, I’ve watched it twice. I bought the Big Go electric & the 8” cube Black Friday 2021. I wasn’t able to really dive into AccuQuilt until summer due to a home remodel, but once I did, I find I struggle making the HST accurately. I’m sure practice makes perfect, but do you really feel it’s faster to do lots of triangles this way versus the easy 8’s or 16’s? Right now it’s not for me because of sewing on the diagonal but I really hope I get better. I really appreciate your AccuQuilt tutorials! Thanks!

Yes it’s so much quicker and easier than the other methods because once you get the seam accurate, you won’t need to take any time to trim them! Best of luck in your practice!

Great informative video! I have the 8” cube and would like to make 12” blocks too. Would I need to just add an extra side and bottom row on any 8” accuquilt pattern to make the 12”?I am very new to Accuquilt but I love it 🎉 thanks
@HomemadeEmilyJane Жыл бұрын
Yes you can make 12” quilt blocks using the shapes in the 8” Mix and Match Qube! The Churn Dash block is one of my personal favorites to check out but the possibilities are truly endless! Happy sewing ❤️

The best Dies for a beginner are the ones they can AFFORD!!

So true!! I love how guilds sometimes have die libraries where members can borrow dies to make it more cost effective for everyone 🤩

can I cut my strips with the stips cutter and then put them on the die
@HomemadeEmilyJane2 жыл бұрын
I’ve never tried it, I usually just do rough cuts with my rotary cutter. I have found it’s a tiny bit more accurate if you line up the fabric so the selvage is perpendicular as it feeds through the machine (I just recently started paying attention to this)

I love using the pre cuts. Which cube works well with the different pre cuts without a lot of waste?
@HomemadeEmilyJane3 жыл бұрын
I rarely ever cut up pre-cuts using my AccuQuilt, but I'd say most shapes in the 6" Mix and Match Qube would work well with 5" squares with little waste.

I’m thinking of getting a go baby. Does it sell 2.5 inch dies?
@HomemadeEmilyJane3 жыл бұрын
The Go Baby can fit dies that are up to 6” wide. I’d definitely recommend getting the 8” Qube which includes a 2.5” square die.
@LisaLisa-zl9vu3 жыл бұрын
@@HomemadeEmilyJane ok and the 8" qube will have all dies that fit the Go baby? It's quite confusing really!! lol
@HomemadeEmilyJane3 жыл бұрын
Yes! All the dies in the 8” Qube will fit in the Go Baby! (The dies are 6” square)
@sandyorth40673 жыл бұрын
I was just looking at the cube and didn't realize, you can make 72 different blocks.
