I didn't expect that Mayflash would make an updated version of their Magic NS, but I'm glad they did! All the improvements make it worth the upgrade! Major props for showing the whole setup manual. It's something you didn't need to do, but you did anyway.

There are like a dozen different versions, the update to the NS is NS2, theres NS Lite, NS 2 Pro, etc.

Thanks for the test! In the video, we can tell the difference between adapters because of the slow motion, but can you actually feel/tell the difference in real gaming? I am looking for an adapter for my ps5 controller (for switch). In addition, can you tell if it makes a difference comparing with laptop build-in Bluetooth?

I'm trying to get my Flatbox Rev 5 arcade controller running GP2040-CE firmware to work with a Vita TV. Since it doesn't seem to work natively, I tried using a MayFlash Magic-NS 2 I had lying around. It doesn't seem to work either. Have you tested any of these adapters on a Vita TV? Officially, I think it only supports the DualShock 3 and 4, not really any third party stuff.

I bought this a whole back, but it appears to cut out at times, disconnecting my fight stick from my PS5. This happened at a tournament mid-match the other day, really embarrassing. Know anything why that might've happened, and how to fix it?

Something like this, do you think it can be plugged into things other than computers and the Switch? Like would this work for using a PS4 controller on Xbox One? Also, great video in general. Feels like a video from a channel with 10-100x as many subs. Was recommended this after watching an LTT video and figured I'd give it a watch cause it looked useful for me :) Definitely lines up with something I'd use, but even more so if it works on other consoles!

I'll be curious to see when one of these finally supports the PS5, considering the walled garden API has yet to be cracked. Though there is one product, a fighting stick for the PS4, that has an upgrade module and a firmware update to make it compatible with the PS5, which gives me hope; I haven't really looked into it, but at surface value this seems implicative that the PS5 is using two conjoined APIs, what they were using for the DualShock 4 plus the DualSense's new features, which would also provides an explanation for the odd compatibility scheme Sony has gone for, it would also explain why Steam Input has DualSense support but not for the advanced haptics. If this is the case, it shouldn't be all that hard to crack, though a simple API translator probably won't suffice if a conjoined API is what's going on, as to emulate it for PS5 compatibility you'd need to spoof the second half of the API; which is what I think that fighting stick's upgrade module is essentially doing, providing a dummy circuit for the advanced haptics so that they're seen as active by the system, and the firmware update is what allows the PS5 to see the advanced haptics as part of the 'controller' in the first place. Sony has been such a headache this generation. Controller-system compatibility problems with their walled garden API solution and lack of third party DualSense alternatives, lackluster PC ports with performance issues on release, the hypocrisy they presented with their reasoning of trying to block the Microsoft Activision-Blizzard buyout, etc. Hopefully next generation they're less of a headache.

already does but with just fight sticks.
@xaytana
@xaytana Жыл бұрын
@@MabansAllDay "Already does but with just fight sticks," entirely contradicts, "... fully supports the PS5...," from the literal first line of my comment. The entire fight stick situation is also off in its own separate conversation that's mostly irrelevant to controllers themselves, again see the literal second line of my comment where this is relevant. Also this product _only officially supports Mayflash fighting sticks_ and not even the full range at that, plus that feature is more or less a footnote among the actual features of the device going by their actual marketing of it _due to the fact that it doesn't fully support the PS5;_ a better example is the Brook Wingman FGC, which supports at least 20 brands and over 60 models of fight sticks, for perspective on how much better brand agnosticy is, they're also the ones that produce the aforementioned PS4 fight stick with the later module to make it PS5 compatible. Though again FGC-only products are not relevant to the original comment. Please for the love of whatever deity/deities you worship, or lack thereof, have some basic comprehension and logical thought skills. Clearly there is still some fuckery going on with Sony's API where only fighting sticks are seeing compatibility; and even at that, there's a list of compatible PS5 games, at least for the Wingman FGC, which furthers the issue that Sony's walled garden API is problematic. The solution seems to be spoofing the API somehow, clearly Brook has the special sauce for fight sticks, and Mayflash does for some of their own fight sticks, but somehow doesn't for typical controllers yet; probably because the PS4 API itself had Sony fuckery going on with it as well, which the PS5 expands on, which is probably why we're only seeing FGC compatibility here. Again, use your brain, full PS5 support does not yet exist, if it ever actually does within this console cycle, which will probably get worse next console cycle if you've noticed the utter lack of third party PS5 controllers, Sony is quite literally killing third party competition and monopolizing their platform's peripherals via a walled garden API, they're becoming the Apple of the console world; where again, if something can't get officially licensed, the seemingly best way to get around the issue is with spoofing the API, somehow, to force the compatibility check to clear, and I'm sure Sony is absolutely _pissing_ themselves over this spoofing technique but can't do much about these compatibility sticks considering they're not PS5-only third party products. It's really not that hard to use some basic comprehension and logical thought.

I thoroughly read your comments and tried to understand best I could with my limited tech knowledge. Firstly, thank you for sharing your expertise it's most appreciated. Lastly, given how sony has made it so difficult for 3rd party controllers to be compatible with ps5, would you still recommend the magic s ultimate? I have a newly purchased s ultimate to go with my F500 elite stick and it's very choosy as to what specific ps5 game it allows to interact with. Any thoughts? Should I maybe return it? Thx

@@ruebensfilms The PS5 does this by design, fighting games and fighting sticks are the only software and hardware that are supported by adapters. If this is your only use for it, the Magic S Ultimate is fine for this job. I suspect non-standard controllers such as fight sticks and racing wheels are running off an alternate API set, as these devices don't need the DualSense features yet still need some form of compatibility otherwise; Sony's situation is just a mess. If you're wanting to adapt other controllers, you need something like a Beloader. All these do is take the communication between the PS5 and DualSense and injects button input from a secondary controller. This is the only working method for general controllers, given Sony's walled garden of APIs and device communication whitelisting. But given that every console comes with a stock controller, it's only a $50 investment on top of a secondary controller; I'm not saying this is cheap by any means, but if you already have something like a $200 'pro' controller, $50 to adapt it to a different system isn't much by comparison. Beloader also makes a controller mod for the DualSense that turns the stock controller into a 'pro' controller with four paddles, similar to an eXtremeRate Rise 4 but with a paddle layout similar to an Xbox Elite, with a Beloader built into it, for $70, and this works with a bluetooth connection between the two controllers. Though I have no idea if the Beloader is compatible with fight sticks. In theory they should be, they're all buttons with a certain mapping anyways, but that's something you'd have to look into. I only mention this as a caution because of how odd the behavior with non-standard controllers is, such as fight sticks and racing wheels, given adapter sticks can work with those, but I also don't know if those are running off a separate API given the current Sony and controller situation. Unfortunately this is the way forward for the industry, at least until someone gets slapped with an anticompetitive lawsuit. Sony will continue this in the next generation, Microsoft is supposedly cracking down on unlicensed controllers though thankfully they have a much broader licensing program than Sony currently does, and I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo tries something similar in the next generation. Then of course we're also seeing this kind of stuff on the PC side, such as Sony's PS5 ports only featuring DualSense features on the licensed controllers themselves, else everything defaults to Xinput/Dinput, case in point is that Valve's Steam Input API is not compatible with game-side features such as Sony's haptic trigger implementation, where using the controller configurator, even with a DualSense, will default back down to a non-Sony API.

Hello, I bought this adapter and I would like to know how to remap (use) the share button on the xbox series x controller, in Apex controls 3 by Flydigi, 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth and gulikit kingkong 2 with this magic x to xbox adapter. I have and tested all these controls. And they don't have the share button. Make a video about it. I didn't find information anywhere. Please.
