Those are revision A joysticks as the Gulikit stamp is on the top black portion. The revision B are stamped on the metal sides. Issues have been fixed in revision B.

I just ordered and installed my set. So far I am satisfied with how they perform. My Veanic sticks were already drifting after a year after installing so I seen some videos of these with hall effect. I have to add they do add in some adhesive rings to cover the gaps but 1) they are not large enough to slip over the analog thump grips and 2) it is hardly noticeable when everything is put together. Also, now I have 3 sets of tools from ordering analog sticks😅

My first set failed badly, unfortunately, with the stick on the right side failing to register a "down press" / right stick push, after about a month of Splatoon play. So I guess you'll tell us how the durability is with your pair over time.

fixed my original switch lite stick without any guides lol my guess is that dust went in and mess up with the sensors, or the metal contact part bent after long time of use, the contacts become less. rather hard fix since its difficult to disassemble. now it work flawlessly

I bought 4 of these, and 3 of 4 didn't work correctly. One was barely off center in the start, but impossible to calibrate. It was still usable though. Another one one kept giving alternating readings in the opposite direction of where I was holding making it completely useless, and the third always registered full left deflection, meaning the switch would never recognize it as being pushed to the right when calibrating, so it couldn't calibrate. In the end only 2/4 were usable, and only 1/4 worked as expected. I unfortunately received them late and was not able to get a refund. I still have some joy cons that drift, and REALLY want to get some of these sticks and have them work, but am afraid I'll have the same experience.

I have a 3rd Party Joycon with RGB Lights, while it looks exactly like a Joycon, opening it is kind of different to other Official Joycons, I'm interested in getting Hall Sensors and applying them to my 3rd Party Joycon but I'm curious if it fits, I'm pretty sure it would work but I just wanted to make sure anyway.

but how is the resistance? I've heard that it doesn't feel the same, that it is like sliding. that you don't get the friction that you would get when the joy con rubbs against something. does it feel responsive overall?

You definetly feel some resistance when you move the sticks The original sticks feels very smooth, but on the gulikit ones you feel some fricction, like... try running your finger on the walls, you can feel that it isn't smooth and there is some texture right? The gulikit stick feels the same

So update cause on these. I've been using these for about 5 months now. Really I haven't noticed any issues. Besides the joycons being small. I did use them full time for Pokemon violet and Scarlett. Yes I did press then a few times and still no issues. It does feel weird moving them at first. Like there was some resistance. But you get used to that.

I had them for like a week, only a couple of hours of play time - Mario Kart, Super Mario bros Wonder, a little bit of smash bros, Zelda, Wario, etc... And it is horrible to my experience. The sticks and caps themselves are very fragile, the plastic is thin and started to crack and even break at the base, of the stick of just a few hours of gameplay. I wasn't abusing them, just using them as I normally would. If this means that every few weeks or month I have to replace the stick with new ones, no thanks. Not to mention that the cap is very slippery and basically had to use thumb grips to solve that. One of the analog sticks wouldn't even fully register when pushing all the way down, even after calibrating multiple times. I ended up returning them. A good solution, but poorly executed with a lot of its own problems.

No just play with them and the click goes away as the plastic wears down a bit.

After the fourth month, my joyconn with Gulikit hall sensor joystick started drifting. this was when i was currently playing zelda tears of the kingdom. it isn't worth the money.

There's Amiibo reader chip on the right joycon, it's veeeery very fragile and was put in place together with the battery, you probably did something to it while installing new joycon?

I ordered some (haven't arrived yet) and so have been meticulously scouring the internet for even more information on them, and have come across many comments complaining that the components still fail just as fast (if not faster) than the original joysticks. Is this your experience too or have you had no issues?

Has anyone done some deep investigation into, very specifically, what goes wrong with the original Joy-Con sticks to cause the drift? Is it a chip gone bad or perhaps there's something physical that could be fixed manually? I also wonder if now, Nintendo has fixed this problem with new units. I just bought the OLED Switch a week ago. No issues... yet.... but I do like to be prepared.

I could be wrong since I’m basing this off memory but I believe that it is caused by dust buildup and/or the internals rubbing together and wearing down over time.

It's dust, you can fix it with IPA.

@@hajilee4539 Yeah, a lot of vids that I've watched since then seem to point to the FIRST TIME it being dirt down inside causing the issue. But in other vids, the problem is actual wearing out of the contact points. I like the idea of those replacement joystick modules that use Hall Effect instead of parts rubbing together. I have a feeling that I won't run into this problem for a long time, since I rarely use the JoyCons. I got one of those Pro controllers which just feels better, to me. I rather like that one. But, if the JoyCons ever do fail, I'll order those Hall Effect replacement modules.

@@hajilee4539 Yes, I have seen their prices and right now, since not mass produced, they are crazy expensive. However, like anything else, if they caught on, to the point, let's say, where Nintendo and others manufactures used them in the millions, the priced would drop substantially. Everything starts off stupid expensive then prices drop once mass produced.
