Would love to see a helicopter category in the future. Just bought Taog’s hangar Alouette iii based on your review flight to Everest base camp, and then his Huey, and then the Miltech Chinook! Also have the HPG Airbuses which are excellent. I think helicopter modules have gotten a lot better in MSFS. Sure they’re a bit easier and less twitchy than DCS or Xplane but they’re incredibly fun and satisfying to fly, and finally deserve a category.

Fair point about helicopters! Maybe also a glider category, if those get more support?

One point of the Fenix family I love is the ability for the MCDU to be available on an external tablet as standard and without having to have additional software installed. Really ramps up the immersion and is something you cannot do as standard with PDMG’s products (as far as I know. As I said, not without additional software).

100% would not give any awards to the SWS PC-12. The flight model is absolutely horrendous and un-responsive, Performance wise, its "okay", its not the most accurate, this is in some part due to the 'professional' SWS hired, who asides from being a egomaniac, and downright rude, provides his own statistics to SWS. I've had 2 PC-12 pilots, one being my father who used to fly PC-12's for aeromed in Australia, and done bush landings regularly, with over 8,000 hours of flight-time. After having a try, neither pilot, or former pilot liked it. Its a major miss for SWS, who produced an aircraft that deserves to be on this list- the Kodiak!
@FlyingMaxFr4 күн бұрын
Did they/you try to fly it after the latest update released a few months ago? SWS changed a lot of things incl. the flight model

I have to agree with you the SWS PC12 is deception especially compared to the Kodiak, they tried to fix it with numerous updates but it still isn’t right

lI appreciate that you summarized the fact that you wouldn’t be covering rotary or bush planes at the beginning of the video. That is all I fly and all I am interested in so it saved me from committing to a long video that addresses neither. There are plenty of others like me, and I would appreciate a video that is for those aircraft if you need subjects to tackle. I like your content and it would be great.

I picked up the Cockspur Phenom 100 for about 5 bucks during the holiday sale...what could possibly go wrong? It turns out that it's an excellent add-on, possibly worthy of at least an honorable mention here. I took it on a long cross-country flight ending with an RNAV approach in bad weather and the autopilot and VNAV worked flawlessly. Easy to hand-fly and the performance seemed believable. I think it's worth it even at full price for someone who's looking for a very light jet. I would rank it about even with, or maybe even a bit ahead of, the Honda Jet.

Drinking game: take a shot each time ITB says "again" or "once more". Nobody will make it to the end of the video. :D

Haha, I wanted to make this exact comment! 😄 On a more serious note, though: the excessive use of "once again" (I didn't count, but probably over a 100 times in this video) is starting to get on my nerves and detracts from the enjoyment of his videos. 😔

A must watch video if you just getting into or want to get into MSFS2020 or MSFS24. As it's hard these days to ask yourself were to start and what to. spend your hard earned cash on, you can not go wrong with purchasing any of these products covered in the video. I would say the Devs who regularly update product are worth investing into, that's if its not perfect on day 1. You can not go wrong purchasing products from either A2A, Milviz/Blackbird, Black Square, AzurePoly, Flying Iron, inibuild, Heatblur and Carenado aircraft, seeing the sales are on. With a host of modules well worth your pennies.

I love the SWS PC-12 but it is definitely not in a finished state. The Flight model has some significant issues and weird behavior. The devs are working on it and it’s been steadily getting better but there are also significant delays on every update they announce. Everything else is fantastic about the plane and I fly it regularly but never for a prolonged time due to the flight model issues. I think in time the SWS PC-12 will be one of the best Addons for the sim but I don’t like that SWS aren’t very foreword with the state of the addon when buying (I’m sure there is no ill intent from them but they aren’t very good at communication) and I would not recommend the PC-12 to anyone without a significant warning.

For the most part, I agree with this list. EXCEPT for 1 thing. I can't believe you didn't mention the Red Wing Constellation at all when, IMHO, it should definitely take the top spot in the propliner category. IIRC, you reviewed it upon first release, which was a beta and far from feature-complete, let alone debugged, and weren't very impressed. However, in the time since, this product has REALLY been improved and now is better in almost every way than the PMDG DC-6, with the single exception of internal textures, which don't look very good at all. But as far as systems depth, failures, visual evidence of failures, assistance of AI crew, flight model, and all the important things, the Connie is far and away better than the DC-6. I think you should give it another look.

If you still have 2020 installed, you can copy the asobo-tbm-930 from the official folders to your 2024 community folder. There is a brief guide on the Just Flight forums. I've been flying the TBM in 2024 for a few weeks so far (with sounds)
@andrenertz16854 күн бұрын
Copy the tbm930 asobo package from the msfs2020 official folder to the 2024 community. Then you´ll have sounds because in 2020 the tbm850 by bsq used the default sounds from the 930.

Excellent summary video for 2024. But I just can't get passed the performance/hardware cost ratio of the Fenix. It is by far the most resource intensive addon I own. With a 7950X3D and a 4070 Super flying in VR (in MSFS2020) it is just barely enjoyable (usually hovering around 20fps maxing out at about 25), while the PMDG 737(-600) and the A300-600 are butter (high 20s or around 30). And that is with barely any traffic (FSLTL: 0 flying and max 10 on the ground, no multiplayer aircraft and very little as far as boats/ships or vehicles). Now maybe someone can explaining why the Fenix is so demanding compared to the other two, but the way I fly, and with not being a pilot so I can't comment on the flight model accuracy, there is nothing that justifies it. And if you fly in VR and have anything less than a 4080 Super or 4090 I would not recommend it.

You've obviously never flown the hawk t1. CG is way out front from where it should be, fuel flow and burn are way off the numbers, woefully under powered and the sounds are not of that engine type either freshly serviced or well run in. And for 35% of the audience it does not function correctly with a 3 position throttle. (Off, 78%, 108%) Not even sure your a real pilot to be fair.

Looking back on the very best MSFS20 had to offer, it was only ever A2A that ever got anywhere close to a decent flight model. Everything else in this list flew with flight characteristics that were very much resembling light weight toys, yet I fully agree with all of the choices in this video representing the best in their class.

1. Agree with the Comanche - moved over to 2024 no problems at all 2. Agree on the Dukes - Turbine moved to 2024 but not the Piston version . I am sure it will but I am missing flying it. 3. I love using the Corsair- not 2024 yet? 4. Vulcan great but not in 2024 yet.

The only way I can make your 'radial' category make any sense in my mind is that you really wanted to give PMDG a gold somehow, so you put two med-fidelity planes on the list (justifying one with a MOD, which is hysterical)l, and then said that the abandoned P3D port was the best.
