Those look and sound awesome, I'll certainly get a couple of pairs, but they are going to be really current hungry for a 2S 130 motor, but I'd buy some Turnighy Graphene 75c 2s LiPo just to run them in my Hyperfire and Regulator with a bigger battery. Overall a great motor and worth getting a nice cage and flywheel setup to truly shine because they really deserve it.

Do these need a 2s lipo at 12v? I am sorry if this sounds stupid but I am new to the LiPo scene and need some advice on how to run a pair of these motors.. I searched "12v 2s lipo" on google and all of them looked way to big to be practical in a nerf gun. Also what voltage do a pair of these even need? Someone please reply Thanks

Brushless motors are controlled with motor controllers and microcontrollers (or maybe even servo testers), not mosfets. Brushless motors in custom geometry cages have many, many, advantages over the Eclipse cage. You’re really comparing apples to oranges. You can run all FK motors designed for Nerf off a 21A Omron.

I snapped up a pair. I was buying a pair to support Drac when I saw the Neo Rhino's for the same price. I was tempted but I stuck with the Fangs because they are rated 2s which gives me the flexibility to keep things HvZ friendly or bing off a 3s. Looking forward to putting these in my classic blue Stryfe sleeper build.

What are you talking about? Motor voltage doesn't matter performance wise. 2S is actually harder to reduce performance with.

Rho Lall you misunderstood. 3S motors don't spin faster than 2S motors when running on their normal batteries. A 2S motor will spin faster than a 3S with both on a 3S. Nerf motors are designed to spin at about 36K RPM at a certain voltage. All 2S motors spin around 36Kish on a 2S LiPo. All 3S motors spin at 36Kish on a 3S LiPo. A 2S motor on 3S will spin at around 50Kish, which outside of Eclipse cages and Rapidstrike Pushers is useless. A 3S motor on 2S however will spin at around 24Kish.

Ian Pugh thanks for the detail. That's my understanding. I'm going to play around with the cage. I'm going to start with a high crush morpheus cage. I agree the over spin of a 3S is less efficient, I'm hoping the high crush can make up for some of that. It's a secondary blaster, so I'll probably run it on 2s most of the time. The novelty of switching in a 3s is more cool than performance.

Justin Yeang depends on Crush. Stock they will top out at 120ish, low crush at 135ish, and high crush 160ish. This is true for all modern Nerf Motors other than the first gen MTB motors.

"Better" is subjective. They match the FPS of Neocats on every setup we could test (don't have eclipse, but Drac tested that). The only thing they lack VS MTB Neo motors is spin up time which is a fraction of a second difference with heavy wheels. Also, they have ball bearings, Neo Rhinos do not.
