The Best Airport Job - A Day at Geneva Airport + Flight to Mont Blanc

I spent a day behind the scenes on the ramp at Geneva Airport. Sitting inside the push-back tug pushing a 360 Ton Emirates B777-300/ER. Could this be the best airport job?
Then, I visited the new observation deck. Geneva airport host a wide array of aircraft activities from general aviation to business jets to commercial airlines and VIP head of state airplanes. In May 2021, both U.S. Air Force One (B747) and Russia Air Force One (IL-96) visited Geneva Airport. This video captured some of the interesting traffic to visit Geneva.
After that, I took off on a sightseeing flight from Geneva to Mont Blanc. Our Piper PA-46 Malibu departed Geneva towards Lake Geneva and the Alps. Within 20 minutes, we reached Mont Blanc. It was really spectacular flying over the Alps.

Being on the Geneva observation deck brings back fond memories for me as a kid. I would go to different airports to observe incoming planes. I spent a lot of time at Terminal Two at Pearson Airport in Toronto (YYZ) as a kid too. I also used to watch planes as a kid at Hamilton Airport (YHM). Decades ago you could sit on the field and watch planes coming in or departing. There was even a pilot's lounge/cafeteria where you could eat and talk to pilots. Those were the days when Nordair and seasonal charters flew out of Hamilton.

My opinion of course by I do think Geneva has a pretty shit airport, I've been there many times and I can say that the airport is too small for how many people there are, it's also an old airport and there isn't a whole lot to do while waiting and everything is slow (laguage drop-off and security checks). The only good thing is the train station right next to the airport and overall the number of public transport options you got to go to geneva. Otherwise the geneva airport is not even remotely in the same universe as the Zurich airport when it comes to passenger comfort. However you are right about Geneva, magnificent city (though a little crowded on the streets at times), shame the UN is there which for me is the big ugly stain on what is otherwise an excellent city.

@@notproplayer3649 Did you visit the new Observation Deck? Yes, it is over 100 year old airport with small area of facvility. But from a plane spotter and aviation lover point of view, the airport has lot to offer!

@@SamChui not yet, however you are right and it is very cool the geneva airport has that, I live really not that far from Geneva so I might just take the opportunity to go there some day see the airplanes, last time I passed by geneva I think either this spot wasn't yet built or I was in the wrong terminal, in any case great suggestion 👍

Always love your vlogs. I have been to Geneva many times but could not see the peak of Mt. Blanc always hidden in the clouds. so nice to see it in this vlog. I have been to Chamonix ski resort which is beautiful. nice to see how ground crew operate.

Great video, the Swiss Alps are fantastic. Back in 1999 I flew from Basle to Venice on a Crossair Saab 340 on a sunny summer day. It was the most scenic commercial flight I’ve ever been on and I have very fond memories.
