I noticed some vignetting of the photos, but I’m assuming you had very harsh sunlight, and challenging lighting to deal with. Great photos and awesome POV nonetheless 👍👍👍👍

Just noticed you used an nd filter. That explains why it has some vignetting. Regardless the 24-70gmii looks very sharp and the colors are out of this world!!

I should’ve have adjusted the luminance of the blue hue in Lightroom, upon editing other photos from the same day, I was able to make the blue and vignetting less pronounced lol. Oh well! It was a breathtaking experience!

Hi, nice video. What aperture are you mainly using with this lens? Lovely shots, would love to see the settings come up with each picture. Thanks
@JasonPierceOfficialАй бұрын
Most of the photos are shot wide open at 2.8, and my shooting mode was aperture priority. I usually left my aperture at 2.8, and used auto ISO. Since these were bright conditions, the camera usually was using ISO 100. Shutter speed was minimum was 1/250 to keep things sharp.

Great photos! Out of curiosity do you use a camera cube to store your camera in your backpack in the video? I have a camera of similar size. I hate all “camera” bags 😂
@JasonPierceOfficial2 ай бұрын
Hey brother, for this video I brought my backpack mainly to hold my tripod, and carry some essentials (Wallet, keys, rocket blower, microfiber cloth). One thing I regret not buying is some sort of camera clip to store it when I’m not shooting that would attach to the strap of my backpack. My only concern is that I use a smallrig base plate (amzn.to/4dEiNu6) which attaches via 1/4 inch screw on the bottom of my a7cii. I’m not sure I would be able to attach something else on the bottom of my small rig base plate, although there is a secondary 1/4 inch thread on the bottom of the base plate, the real issue is will it be secure enough? Putting an attachment onto an attachment.. When I’m not going very heavy on my set up, I usually just bring a camera cross body sling. I use the Hex mini sling (amzn.to/3M9eXNz), and it fits my a7cii and the 24-70 gmii. But when I'm done shooting and time to pack, I can successfully store my a7cii and 24-70 gmii attached within the hex mini sling and into my northface backpack. I can also fit my original a7c with 20mm f1.8 g lens attached inside a little sling bag, and store it on top of the hex mini sling. So I can fit all my gear in my northface back pack.

Hey bro, nice video. I have the same camera and lens as yours. What kind of filter do you use? any recommendations? thanks

In this video I'm using this filter: amzn.to/4dyZmmG It's by polar pro x peter mcknnon

What ND filter did you use? Shooting a music festival next weekend, looking to sort a few out, any recommendations?Shooting on an A7r iv, 24mm GM prime n also a 70-200 GM
@JasonPierceOfficial2 ай бұрын
I used the Polar Pro Peter McKinnon 2-5 stop VND (edition 2). I used to use a Tiffen VND but that would create that horrid X pattern when changing the stops. 2-5 stop is great for almost all situations including bright daylight. Just bump up the aperture to compensate if the situation calls for it. Here is the actual link so you can get more specs: amzn.to/4dBZ0vh

Does your lens collect dust inside?
@JasonPierceOfficial2 ай бұрын
I’m very conscientious of how I handle my lens. If I feel a gust of wind headed in my direction, I will point my camera down, and slowly draw in the barrel. That being said I can’t always control the conditions and sometimes must get the shot. Just FYI this lens is dust and weather sealed. And after having this lens now for quite some time there is barely a spec of dust in there. During this shoot at various locations around Yellowstone over 3 days, there were also numerous wild fires burning around the nation. I was able to physically see the granules of ash floating in the air. Despite all that my lens was still in impeccable condition. And if you’re gonna buy expensive glass, try to use a rocket blower before and after each shoot, even a fine hair brush to remove the hard to reach areas, and lastly wipe down with solution for anything that like smudges, buildup, or residue.

Sorry just another question. Just wondering how you finding the a7cii and 24-70 gm2 setup? How are you are finding the weight in hand? I am interested in this setup! Just bought the a7cii body.
@JasonPierceOfficial2 ай бұрын
The weight for me is no issue, for reference I weigh 145lbs and I am 5'7. Fairly athletic and in shape. I also attach a smallrig base plate (amzn.to/4dEiNu6) to help with handling and ergonomics, plus it's super easy to mount on arca swiss compatible tripods. With the size and weight out of the question, the performance is unparalleled, and professional grade.
