I would agreed on your contention. However, for me is the one in the same line of best instructionals is Lachlan Giles as well. Especially his series regarding guard retention (very advanced) and leg locks -new style 50/50 and outside Ashi. I consider Lachlan is better leg locker than Gordon, however in regards of game diversity Gordon is better as back taker or triangles. Garry Tonon also one of amazing guys worth to get his instructional.

Best instructional (or guide, app, etc.) should I follow as a beginner who just got a Ring to Cage dummy and doesn't have anyone to practice with at the moment?

If you are brand new, the Gracie Combatives DVDS are the most bang for the buck. It will give you a basic game plan, is well explained, and the moves do not require much athleticism. Get the set used on EBay for around $70-80. If you are rich and have a lot of time, start buying the Danaher Further Faster Series (all of them are great).

@@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj2 yeah, I have 2 months of actual practice. I’ve done martial arts for a while and I’m quite athletic. And money isn’t really an issue, especially if it means I save time. I’m very much interested in getting the 80/20 out of BJJ since I want to dedicate other time to my other martial arts (I recently got a double-end bag for striking!) and workouts. I’ll likely get that Danaher, thanks!
