Would replacing the rubber hose with the silicone one be just as fine or should I stick with the rubber hose for its toughness?
@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj25 ай бұрын
@@mini-7674 I personally like the rubber hose because it is reinforced, but I think if you can find a reinforced silicone hose, it would work great!

So for the arms you took segments of pex held together by heater hoses? That's exactly what I was thinking of doing after building it based on your 2.0 video. I like the dummy but it's difficult to grab the wrist like when taking the back, kimura, etc. I think I will upgrade it based on this. Thanks!
@mattmgarza8 ай бұрын
The 23.5mm clamps are the proper size. I'm using what I believe are called ear pinch clamps--used in automotive. Whatever they are called, they look identical to the pex clamps. Hopefully this helps someone.

I've been having trouble with the chinstrap grip. I can't get a nice tight grip on the chin and my opponents are usually able to peel off my fingers easily. I've theorized this may be because I am not putting enough driving force into the back of my opponents neck ? What is the advantage of a chinstrap rather than a fully locked grip which seems more secure ? Thank you!
@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj29 ай бұрын
The chinstrap allows for enhanced mobility. When you get the chinstrap, make sure you are not camping in one position. Use your shoulder to put pressure onto the neck, stay off your knees, and move to a better offensive position. You can also”bounce and go” like a wrestler-pull the opponent head to the mat a couple times while you are getting to the back.

Great Video! Have you ever thought about using a thick aluminum craft wire or something like a cloth wire hanger to go inside the PEX to hold the form of the arms/legs and still give you the ability to bend? Do you think that would be useful? Or overtime, the wire would snap?

Hey I've had a hard time deciding if I should get a canvas one or a leather one (~2x price). My concern with canvas is that it might absorb sweat & dirt over time and maybe be dangerous to get infections. Or is it waterproof (idk, couldn't find much information on the internet)? What do you think?
@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj28 ай бұрын
The canvas is much easier to stuff, and moves better.

I know this is super random but my brother and I use the same mats you have to roll in our garage. How did you minimize the space on the side of the mats? When we attach the mats to each other using the Velcro there’s still half an inch of space between the mats. It’s not a lot but just enough to be there and doesn’t look like you have the same issue. Thanks!
@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj2 Жыл бұрын
This was our old gym. I think the mats were just higher quality than the typical folding mats. I don’t remember what brand they were, but they worked pretty well. Our current mat, which has no visible seams are what we prefer. Sorry I don’t have a secret trick for you 😁

Placebo for sure, I can agree 100%, but why the belt overall? well it shows you and others you are passing levels, and usually should be an accurate reading that you are on track. A good example is this guy knows all the arm attacks, leg attacks, head attacks, body attacks, can get out of all of them, reverse etc. This is a very big topic where the systems are either properly followed or are made a mockery of, and that is where all the confusion is escalated further.
@mmareviewer.2372 Жыл бұрын
For good lighting take away all the lights that will shine into the lenses and put all the lights facing you but make sure the beams of light are not mixing with the camera view. The trick is to get the light on the target without any of the light being in the invisible distance that is like a cone the lenses covers. keep uploading but that is what is probably making it tough on the channel to grow.
@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj2 Жыл бұрын

It never cost me that much to get a grappling dummy. 45 dollars. All junk clothes. I had cut up and stuffed it. Grappling dummy helps with wrestling. Build strength and endurance. You can shadow wrestle. Then you can work on your wrestling. Even work on judo throws and sweeps. Picking up that dummy over and over for reps. Single leg take downs. Double leg take downs. Sweeps. Work on passing guards. Then work on arm bars work on chokes. Then work on ground and pound and then submissions. You can even work from the bottom on escapes. Its going to build strength. Its going to build endurance. Its going to build muscle memory. It’s like telling a boxer. If you like sparring you don’t need a punching bag. Its going to be a waste of money. lol I own a grappling dummy and it worka great. It aint a waste of money and it ain’t definitely 145.
