I just bought A Catalyst 200 watt Amp and I and loving it but it sounds better with the Compressor on my Boss ME-80 and I like the delay on my pedalborad better I like the fact that I don't have to use my Mesa Boogie for small gigs anymore I think you just need to mess with the settings to get the best sound that works for you I get to finally use the XLR out to the PA this weekend and one more thing you will have to adjust your pickups on your guitar to a height that sounds good nice and clear and I love the fact that I can pratice all day with out burning up my tubes 😀🎸🤟

just picked up the Catalyst 100 and that thing is just delicious. Running ODs, wah and FreqOut into Stomp into Catalyst and thinking I may not even run Amps/Cabs from Stomp

Great review/ sets😊. I bought the 100 after 20years of rocking the crap out of my Hughes n kettner. The internet got nuts about the catalyst😅, especially my dear vintage nerds. But it's sound is crystal clear, the quality is just right 🤷 of course it's a matter of taste too, but many many musicians seem...🤔 Jealous? 🤷 I can't explain the amount of hate this thing gets.

I tried the Catalyst. In your videos it sounds amazing. At the guitar store it sounded too harsh, at least compared to Fender Champions...

Fender champions are hard to beat. I picked up the 100 on a whim recently and I was very impressed by it.

The Line 6 catalyst is really good but like all Line 6 products it doesn't sound great out of the box you have to tweek it yourself before it sounds good

@@boimesa8190 after gigging with it a few times I just couldn't justify the price. To me it's just a more polished spider amp. I think the katana beats it in many ways.

I’m not looking to go down the FRFR route for several reasons - much prefer the idea you’re using here as you have an amp that can be used apart from a modeller or as a powered speaker. Can the Catalyst also be used just as a speaker cab (and would you want to)? What do you think (if anything) about the idea of putting an HX Stomp or…[modeler of choice] through a Harley Benton GAP-1000 or similar through a Harley Benton G112 Vintage Cab? What appeals to me is, unlike with an FRFR, you can also play a valve head or Quilter Powerblock etc through the HB cab too and apparently it sounds fantastic. If the clean channel on the Catalyst is the best it seems to make sense to go for the clean setup I’m thinking of

Ok I have the Catalyst 60 with the pod go,4 cable method, using the delay and reverb on the amp frees two blocks on the pod go.I have ,comp,kinky boost ,808,flanger & EQ on pod go.Also foot pedal for two presets.Botique clean,botique boost on A channel.So I have three dirty stages of grit.The Botique clean is just short of breaking up,using guitar to roll volume down.Preset B Hi gain then I have pod go switching another preset on that to choruses,phasers ,reverbs and delays and the Hi Gain amp boost on the Catalyst if I need more gain. I will try this for a while and then experiment with direct in front of the amp.BTW make sure you place the effects loop on the pod go at the end of the chain.I may have to double check on that.Had problems with the delay being in your face.I am not at my amp set up.

I have had to turn the Master up 100% in order to save presets, so I can use with the Fire 🔥 Breathing direct out.. I used headphones. That seems to make the volumes useable, for the house mix. Did you cover this by any chance, or suggestions. Thx

Love the possibilities I envision checking out your video--Nice Job! I have the 60watt and used the amp interface itself to dial in refinements to the Dynamic Amp. But what is that interface I see on screen? Looks like a whole 'nother world. Not so by the way, I LOVE this amp and the sounds I have gotten thus far. I'm in my sound room with the Master at noon and the channel vol at 3.5 with the .5watt setting and that is loud enough. I need to see about letting it rip for just a few minutes, just to hear it I didn't have much money and for $299 I thought I woudln't get much---WRONG!

I've really really been impressed by the Clean tones - and actually preferred the Catalyst Chime to my real AC15 (which I sold by the way shortly after making the video) as it was a bit less brash sounding etc.

Is your amp setup with the Sag all the way up or off? Just curious if that makes a difference on your tone or not? Seems like when I start playing my Catalyst it all sounded muddy no matter what guitar I was using. Is that because of Sag being all the way up or not? I have not use the app yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Some of the default presets have the sag and or bias adjusted (some don't). If you change amp models they default to 50% sag and bias values (If sag/bias was adjusted and you move off then back to that model it will be default again). The same is true for the manual channel, the bias/sag can be adjusted but will revert to default if you change amp models. The hum setting will also change to the default "On" setting. It's also worth mentioning that channel A/B will remember their settings without being saved until you change banks, so if you move out and back to the current bank you can easily and quickly revert it back to the last saved settings. Also the effect and reverb blocks function like the sag/bias settings in that if you have edited any of the deep parameters they will revert to default if the model is changed (and or changed back). For example spring reverb will always load with dwell at 70% and drip on high.

For clean tones I am liking the Boutique more than the Clean. Crunch is pretty good, but I like the gain and boost quite a bit higher. Hi Gain is just fun. Working on setting up some 'effects only' (blasphemy) presets in the HX Stomp to run in front and that shows some promise too. There's an eq or two in there I will have to try. :) Generally I will work up a couple of presets for an amp model with a guitar plugged straight in and end up just using them for days so I guess I really don't have a clear favorite yet.
